Remember that Rimuru did not merely transform into a demon lord, but a *true demon lord,* putting him heads above most who would call themselves demon lords. As AJ said, Black realized the absolute awesomeness that Rimuru has become, and Black is certainly no joke himself. Ep.24 informed us that Rimuru would give Black the name Diablo. ("Black" is simply a designation to distinguish him from White and Red and whatever other pregenitors there are.) So knowing what Black can already do, I expect Diablo to be absolutely broken, with Rimuru able to dwarf even that.

Everybody is right. Degenerate was sacrificed but it just disappeared as an individual skill. It merged into Raphael and she can use it with a better efficiency.

@xGungiManx It's mostly the context of how it's phrased, which leads people to think of it like that. The skill isn't discarded, or sacrificed for the sake of evolving. It's sacrificed TO the evolution itseslf, so Great Sage receives the skill as a sacrifice and that's why it merges with Great sage as it evolves into Raphael. So now it is a part of the Raphael ultimate skill.

The slime diaries are a fun canon slice of life that expands on the worlds lore while keeping things light hearted. It is my favorite anime of the season and definitely worth watching.

The Slime Diaries spin-off is written by the same author as the main series and is basically canon as a result. It starts a month after the Orc Disaster and gradually follows along the main series (just with more comedy), but it hasn't reached this far yet even in the manga. It's well worth checking out.

What they aren't telling here, is, that Rimuru couldn't attack the soldiers with normal magic, because they have magic resist barriers upon the whole legion already. Rimuru started with his own anti magic barrier and attacked with sunlight, because most people in this world don't have an idea about physics and therefore have no countermassures prepared for this kind of attack. And the anti-magic barrier prevents them from doing so after they have seen the attack. So he went in after he prepared a sure way to kill. And Great-Sage did all the computing needed to for this skill to work. kind regards.

This function has been referenced in past episodes which would mean it existed already so the petition to evolve Great Sage to something that already existed and would cause it to fail. So Great Sage went a different route to evolve to be able to have the ability and enough power to revive the fallen. Which was Rimaru's main driving force to becoming a demon lord. This falls in line with the Fairy Tale story that was told to Rimuru

someone probably said it already, but that's not slime he's using, but with the help of water spirits, Rimuru creates lenses(is this how the plural is spelled? :D ) that concentrate the sunrays into fucking deathbeams. Also, that magic Razen used against the summonned demon was the one Hakuro was wary of during their encounter, and it didn't misfire... the demon just blew on it xd

The reason why Rimuru was able to perform a resurrection with a 100% success rate is because of the circumstances, all the souls were trapped within the barrier, and with Beelzebub to completely absorb EVERYTHING in range and Raphael’s ability to do insanely complicated calculations in microseconds, was like comparing middle age medicine and their equipment, to the medicine and equipment we’ll have a thousand years from now, it was the perfect storm, and the reason why great sage and Rimuru were forcing skill evolutions was for that expressed purpose, so now, as long as Rimuru is there for someone’s death to gather their soul before it passes on, he can resurrect them with a 100% success rate

The fact that Degenerate was sacrificed to obtain Raphael grants Raphael a bigger ability to combine/work on skills. (If you remember, Degenerate was obtained by eating Shizu and grants the ability to combine skills.) Beelzebub Lord of Gluttony sacrificed Merciless and, for that, was granted a bigger ability to interact with souls. (An example of it was the ability to "ingest" every magicule in the barrier without devouring souls and being able, then, to use them.) It's not really important, it's just an extra thing that might be interesting. Also, Slime Diaries is actually really fun and grants an opportunity to explore quite a few behind the scenes characters. Seeing Geld's life in tempest, seeing Gobta getting trolled, etc.

Slime diaries is set right after the defeat of the Orc Disaster Geld, before Milim made an appearance. It's about the day to day affairs of the town. It's great feel good series. The art is a bit different than the regular show, but it works well there. It's DEFINETELY worth watching if you like the characters (and their interractions) and the slice of life genre.

As a novel reader, trying to avoid spoilers on anime-only watchers: - The evolution does NOT interfere with your personality. IF you were a homicidal maniac, then you are just a homicidal maniac but add to that the Demon Lord title alongside some extra skills and abilities as well as much more magic capacity. - Look at the story of HOW Milim became a Demon Lord. From the story alone you can understand that she was sad that the revival attempt failed. Now compare and contrast her with how she acts in the previous season mostly. She is an airhead and kind in nature BUT if you really anger her you will get beaten up. - For curious people, there is a video on KZbin with a person that remembers and can explain the skills of the Slime universe way better than me while trying to avoid spoilers. Keep in mind a simple thing. Great Sage was asked by Rimuru to help and therefore after sacrificing a skill it evolved into Wisdom King Raphael. Since Rimuru is currently evolving, Raphael took over in order to complete the revival as fast as possible.

I loved this episode. But yes, there is a risk to reviving someone. We know that Millim failed because the soul of the dragon companion had already passed on. All you heal in that case is the body that runs mindless and goes into a rampage. In this case with Rimuru, he used the barrier of the enemy (and the one Shuna and Myulan were casting on top of that) to trap the souls. Used his ability (which started off as predator, that evolved with the Orc lord's which was called starved, to the ability called Gluttony and now Rimuru is a demon lord that ability evolved to the ultimate skill Beelzebub) to suck up everything that was trapped in the barrier and used Raphael (which was great sage evolved twice, from sage to wise one to Raphael as his second ultimate skill) to orkestrate the spirit revival.

Yes, watch Slime Diaries. It's a very different show, especially now compared to normal Slime, but you will absolutely have fun watching it. Although do keep in mind episode 1 will feel weird for most of it, because of the way it just moves from joke to joke, but it ultimately comes together at the end. the reason the demon is so obsessed with rimuru is because when he met shizu in the first season he saw that her mask had the power over time and space. this made him interested in the mask enough that he watched her while in the demon realm. he saw that when she met rimuru the mask lost the time and space abilities so he believes that rimuru has knowledge that surpases the current knowledge of the world so he almost sees rimuru as a godlike being. the reason why 'wise one' wanted to evolve is because it was created to be helpful to rimuru but as rimuru got stronger and obtained many loyal and helpful followers 'wise one' was needed less. and even wasnt able to answer rimurus questions about why the attack happened and if he could have stopped it. so it wanted to evolve so that it could be helpful/useful again to rimuru. it knew why rimuru was doing this, he wanted to save his people, and knew rimuru would probably never use 'merciless' again so after it evolved into 'raphael' it sacrificed the 'merciless' skill to evolve 'gluttony' into 'beezelbub' which made it stronger and so increased the chance of success as it could suck in all the magicules in the area so the souls could be collected.

Everyone evolved even the revived ones. To us it doesnt look any different. If you look at Rimuru, his hair in human form is now longer, every time he got a power buff his hair got longer but now its long as hell lol. Great Sage tried to upgrade itself. Hmmmm, I guess Rich never took a magnifying glass to ants as a kid. Man can kids be horrible. Slime Diaries is worth it if you enjoy comedic wholesomeness, if we had Slime Diaries last spring that whole mess would have been easier to go through.

Slime Diaries is absolutely worth reacting to. It's more of the super wholesome stuff that made you love Slime in the first place AJ, you won't want to miss it. Also - there's a swimsuit episode. Just gonna' leave that with you. Oh, and good isekai news - Overlord is confirmed to be getting a season 4!

If I had to choose. Episodes 10, 11, and the next episode were all my favorites. The gifts that they talked about were evolved abilities. Rimuru will be fine because he did this for his people. It will get even better than this in the second half of the season. Hope you enjoy it.

He didn't name veldora he gave veldora a "family name" that the both of them share.. Veldora was the one to name rimuru tho so if veldora evolves rimuru would get a gift too
