So glad this stunt by BSG is getting mainstream publicity. I’ve been a part of the community of Tarkov for years and have thousands of hours into the game and I can’t bring myself to play this game anymore. BSG is killing their own game, and a game I’m very much looking forward to comes out tomorrow, Greyzone Warfare, and if that has a successful launch Tarkov is DONE.

Same. I've been a EoD owner for the last 5 years, LOVE the game, but I can't bring myself to play it cause of all these poor decisions in the game. I was fine with the bugs, tweaks, slow content updates but I called it when BSG started doing small microtransactions options (Stash upgrades, apparel unlocks, even Co-Op unlock) that they would try to milk the community a bit when no one was looking....but if you enjoy the game, you're constantly looking, like the community. And don't get me wrong, those microtransactions weren't terrible, they didn't really affect the in-game portion, but it's the principle and respect of it. The new edition includes having an SOS beacon to call in friends mid-match to come help you, or give you an item that increases your Fence Rep to where Scavs can't attack you from 60m away. I've enjoyed EFT for being a game where the decisions you make is your fault or a hard grind type of game. It's punishing, but a few of these perks lessen that feeling.

Saying all those microtransactions "weren't all that bad" when they sound eerily close to pay-to-win and paying $150 for a game are just the reasons why modern games like these are utter shit. It was naive of you all to expect a company to uphold their promise of giving their paypigs all future DLC for free. At the very least, you should have expected there would have been a limit to it.I would only feel comfortable buying into something like that if they were legally obligated to uphold their promise of all future DLC, but 1) Video game companies are under no obligation to give you anything and they can change their terms with no legal penalty and 2) even if the entire community decided to collectively lash back with a lawsuit, it wouldn't matter since the devs are from Russia. Hopefully this will be a lesson to you and everyone else who paid these devs more than they deserved. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

I think ads that play when your video is paused will cause you to close KZbin altogether. If you are pausing to talk to someone, take a phone call or something else, then ads playing are actually getting in the way. So you either are inconvenienced or have an pointless time tax, both options are a quality of life drop.

On Roku it’s just a stationary visual ad. It’s annoying if you’re trying to pause a scene at a certain moment but aside from that it’s not too bad. Sorry I haven’t finished the video if they mentioned playing full on ads with sound I’d be SO MAD.

It’s far worse than that when Roku is concerned. The patent mentions monitoring the HDMI ports so if you pause a movie/series or game the tv will play an ad, so for example the series you brought to watch back to back on Blu-ray without ads now has ads.

KZbin ads when video is paused, good and bad. The reason people pause it is to leave the room or doing something so it doesn't matter. Or bad because sometimes people have sleeping babies/kids and pause it to go check on them and if some really loud ad plays that's not good. And ads are always louder than the video.

You ad's on pause is such a dreadful idea. Majority of time when pause mid video its because you want to mute it to concentrate on something more important, but don't want to miss any of the video. I often play games with lot quiet moments and have you tube in background, soon as talking part or cutscene kicks in I hit pause on my keyboard which immediately pauses the video so I can focus on the game etc, so if a ad started at that point, it would defeat the point, and it would make you tube completely un-usable unless those adds was mute by default, but we all know those ads will prob blast out at 5x the volume of the video you was watching.

However, if KZbin experiments with a video ad playing, then that's heading in the wrong direction altogether. the drifting issue is a real shit issue, I personally love my switch. I sent it to Apple so they can fix the controller. But most people don't know you can even do that, I've told so many people and they are always surprised. Lot of people get the switch as a budget gaming device, and new controllers are 60 bucks. So you can imagine that many people probably get stuck in their tracks, trying to enjoy their switch. I've had PS4 360 PS 5 controllers. None with Drifting issues.

The irony is, i'd way prefer adds to roll when the video is paused then the jarring ones that hit you in the face while watching the video. If adds only played while paused, and i could just click play again to start the video at any time, instead of having to wait for the adds to finish, i'd actually have no problem with ads on youtube. One of the biggest issues with adds is how invasive they are.

I still think I would be interested if companies wanted to charge an additional amount for an offline version of a game, but that would mean you get the full game any unlocks you'd get from battlepasses or subscription services to be as I'd even be ok that the characters created or played in offline play could not be used on the online services. I just want complete games like they used to have without the additional or ongoing costs and I know it sounds stupid but I'd be willing to pay more to be able to do that as it's a one of cost, maybe not as much as tarkov are expecting, but I'f say I'd probably accept a 25 -50% increase on an online platform game. As like it or not they expect the majority of players to continue to pay for the game and make up a profit on their online costs. As people say well it's not necessary to buy into it, but that means your going to be okay with missing out on content,

We'll good thing i figured out ways to not see ads on youtube as i used to do it on my side gig and when i go to the gym. Also i want the switch to better but the joy stick is just to much and than joe you are right they barely have any sales even older games don't sales yet and still a high price. Also yes i am one of those people who only buys pokemon games and mario games.

Just a correction, apparently the switch 2 can output 1080p on the screen alone but can also output 4k on tv screens. At least that's what we "know" so far

the switch2 will have a holographic 3D monitor from samsung that has eye trackers and you can also look at the display from multiple angles and get a completely different picture similar to the sony bravia from 15 years ago. it's basically the 3ds but with 1 screen cause you can look at it from multiple angles.

@AngryJoeShow For the KZbin ad news, a part of this is already implemented! I watch KZbin through my PS5, and I also have KZbin Premium AND those motherfuckers have already started showing ads in the form of a 'screensaver' when a video is paused or you are inactive for a moment where if you click the wrong button you start the advertised video instead of continuing to watch the video you paused or going back to your account. I get these fucking ads even though I have Premium. I sent them feedback, and you should too!

If they had a way cheaper premium without youtube music, I'm talking no more than $5, I'd get it. I don't really listen to music that often, I can't see spending money on premium if I'm not going to use most of it.

I really like KZbin premium but the problem is that it incentivizes KZbin to make the free version as shit as possible so that more people will want to pay for the premium version :/
