Steam removing the game from those countries wasn't bad at all, that was Steam going "ok, so we can't sell this game anymore in these countries since they wouldn't be able to make a PSN account", if they sold a game knowing that it wouldn't be playable anymore due to a requirement, that would be messed up. AND they were refunding people with over 90 hours in the game which is way past their policy.

Let's not pretend that just the linking was the whole point of the Helldivers 2 debacle. Everything gets data breached including Steam. And you need to link 3rd party accounts to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam or Halo MCC or Ubisoft games. Remember when you needed to link a Bethesda net account for Doom Eternal? And the only work around was to turn off your internet? The point was that Helldivers 2 was being sold and played for the last 3 months without requiring a link to PSN. They turned it off at launch because their servers were being hammered with 400,000+ people trying to play. Everyone was mad because they were arbitrarily enforcing a rule that didn't need to be enforced for the past 3 months, and the many issues surrounding PSN in other countries.

I still own my copy of colonial marines on ps3…with day 1 receipt…the story was meh, but that multiplayer…👌🏻. To be fair to Farthest Frontier devs at current, and Ik it’s been in early access way longer, their game has quite a bit more depth of gameplay than Manor Lords does and essentially all their player base kinda did just up and leave for Manor Lords so I’d be a lil salty to haha. Yes Sony wanted to enforce the PSN linking but ultimately the Arrowhead CEO made the decision not to enforce it and let the game be sold and played by everyone on Steam. Arrowhead CEO not Sony. Yes some people just don't want to make another account or are wary of PSN data breaches, but PSN is also unavailable in 177 different countries. Arrowhead knew 6 months before launch about the PsN linking but was unaware it was unavailable in other countries or that places like the UK required a facial scan or government ID before setting it up. Or that places like Ukraine required owning a PS4/PS5 to create a PSN account.

Heads up on helldivers, probably hear about this next week. Most of the world still cant access Helldivers, in fact theyve added 3 more countries to the list, and theyve done the same thing to Ghosts of tsushima now

I know its been 12 days but in my opinion the reason Sony wanted to add PSN to hell divers 2 was because of the popularity it had on social media and players wanting xbox to have the game aswell. Sony was definitely not happy that hell divers 2 did not have the recognition as a "playstation exclusive" because its also on PC. So adding PSN would give it the sony recognition.

You can imagine that Sony's reversal was due to player pushback...and it is, indirectly...but the real kicker was Steam refunding people. Taking money right out of their pocket is what hurt them, not the complaints by themselves. It's also probably not that they want to sell your info, although they'll almost certainly probably do that...what they really wanted in Q1 is to boost their PSN numbers so they can turn round at the next investor call and say 'hey look how well we're doing with all these new accounts'...'give us more investment money'

40K on Candy Crush, damn dude. It's a great toilet game but if you're so bad you BUY power ups you're clearly not blessed by jesus lol I've played that game since it came out and have not spent a single cent. I even made it a challenge for myself to never even use the free powers you get. Im at lvl 2704 now i think
