i wouldn't be so sure from what iv hrear over the years is that youtube really doesn't pay that much so the review likely wont bring in much money which is why they and pretty much every youtuber has a patreon, i'm pretty sure they make more money in one twitch stream from donations then they do from a whole month of youtube ads

Concord's credits are over an hour long, makes the $400 million figure a lot more believable. If you've worked with big projects, you'll probably have seen what insane amount of bloat can happen. I've been on a project that went $500 million OVER budget! And it was ABANDONED and restarted at the end of it, then they rehired the SAME contractors who ran up that bill for the new project, and now the NEW project is over budget again. Companies are run by individuals, and if they're a bunch of idiots, amazing things can happen.

400 million is a believable figure. The game was expected to run as a live service and the next big thing for Sony. The credit list was a mile long, signed a tv deal, promised weekly cinematics, likely had made unreleased content to feed additional seasons, likely unreleased cash shop, cost to up keep live service isn't cheap and it's why they shut down.

One thing about Concord that keeps getting overlooked: Firewalk designed Concord to be a 5v5 hero shooter. Firewalk was responsible for the game's presentation and whatnot. Sony saw Concord, was impressed by studio's talent and decided to acquire the studio. Sony was mostly hands-off in regards to Concord's development, as they are with most (if not all) of their studios. Evidently, there was some residual Bungie hubris among those ex -Bungie devs who thought Concord was gonna be the next big thing. To be fair, the game started development around the time the hero shooter genre wasn't so saturated, so maybe it is a bit understandable why they thought they had something great.

@@maxstill9216 No, it didn't. Why Concord failed has little to nothing to do with the culture war-enthusiast diatribe some claim. Other variables that were far more detrimental caused that game's downfall: market saturation, $40 price tag in a mostly free-to-play genre, lackluster presentation.

Nuclear power needs to be increased 100 fold in this country, there is zero reason to be holding back.
@The.Usurper

It began when a pressure valve in one of the reactors failed to close, allowing cooling water-contaminated with radiation-to drain into adjoining buildings. Control room operators made critical errors as they struggled to contain the crisis, and by early morning the core had heated to over 4,000 degrees-just 1,000 degrees short of meltdown. As radioactive steam began pouring out of the plant, word of the incident leaked to the outside world; within days radiation levels were elevated over a four-county zone. Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburgh ordered the evacuation of pregnant women and small children from the area. On March 31, plant workers were able to address the problems and ended the threat of a meltdown. Although no official deaths or injuries were reported, there has been an ongoing controversy over whether the radiation released at Three Mile Island led to increased cancer and infant mortality rates in the region.

You will find out that Nuclear Plants has the highest safety level (The amount of failsafes especially in NEW powerplants is crazy), take the least free space, produce the least environmental contamination... But nah let's stick to thermal energy stations with CO2 emmisions (of which you need tens of them to get the same amount of energy as ONE Nuclear plant) or OH OH How about Solar Plane or Wind Mill stations that need 100 times the free space (buh bye Forest and Birds) and are very dependant on weather? BUT NAH CLEARLY NUCLEAR PLANTS IS DIRTIEST AND MOST INEFFECIENT ENERGY SOURCE. Seriously when you actually start to crunch the numbers like Energy Produced, Free Space Needed, Contamination Rates - Nuclear Plant is a way better option compared to regular Thermal, Solar or Windmill options. C'mon the ones who will really lose in case of Nuclear Stations becoming more common is only THE OIL INDUSTRY which needs to somehow justify all this Thermal Plants and tons of CO2 emmissions.

Concord has its own episode on Amazons show which was in the works even before the game had released. Of course it was being geared as the future of Playstation. Playstation has spent almost as much on other titles. Spending 400 million on what is supposed to be its flagship product heading into the future is very believable. There's plenty of ways to sink the money without it bearing out in the final product. The thing has been in development for eight years.

Bonus of the first 3 games most expensive 1 - Genshin impact 2020 $100 million to make but to keep the game running every year they add $200 milion with skin update and add ons pass the $800 million and continue adding money to the budget. 2 - Star Citizen is not out yet and is more than $600 million in and this is just a part what they say they add to the game so they still in development so is going to be more expensive. 3 - Monopoly Go! they say is more than $500 millions but is a mobile game and a server game so they add money every year to keep the game running and they already have that money back in a month. 🤣

Example: Concord budget has been officially stated to have been two BG3s, but there is a claim that it was actually four BG3s. A useful benefit of this is it is easier to wrap your head around how much money has been wasted on crap live-service games.
