Can you please explain the examples of facilitation techniques and tools like- Brainstorming examples Ice breaker examples Visualization examples

I actually think that first ''weird'' definition works perfectly. By facilitating you help people bring forth ideas/a way of thinking (lowering the threshold) in new ways other than what they might have been thinking routinely (breaking the repeated use old pathway of thinking)
@AJSmart2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! That's a great breakdown of that definition. But you're right, it works too. It's sooo wordy though! We like things the easy way 🙃 Cheers

If you are a member of a team and take on the role of facilitator, do you contribute to its conent at all, or is there a way to do this and still remain outside the process and content?

Thanks a lot for this video it was informative and funny as well😅. Even as a facilitator I need a reminder of the core skills we need in such career. I understood that a facilitator shall be a bit neutral while coordinating sessions or meetings, so I wonder if the facilitator was specialized in a certain field, would that effect his/her role in a good or a bad way?

This sounds really useful I can it belıeve more large companies don't employ a facilitator. I am currently doing th Google UX course and would love to have facilitator qualification to go with it - do the exist?

Rebecca, have you replaced Jonathan? It's not often you hear a strong Irish brogue on KZbin. Love it or should that be fair play to ya. Anyway my questions, what are the main DOs and DON'TS for facilitation and what are the he biggest errors that new facilitators often fall into. Both questions are probably related.
@AJSmart2 жыл бұрын
Thank you William B! You'll probably will be hearing that strong irish accent more often. And thanks for your questions/suggestions. We are preparing some videos exactly on those topics. Hope they find your way when they're out! Cheers

I saw the video from the link and to be 💯 transparent it felt like being in a long hour boring meeting that facilitation is supposed to solve. I challenge AJ and smart to turn that video into a 10 minute brief. It’s way to wordy and comes off way to salesperson like. My intent is to help and I hope that my feedback does that.
@cillboon2 жыл бұрын
The video is 8 minutes. What would adding another 2 minutes achieve? Maybe the same video in 4-5 minutes would be better. It sounds like a 1-page summary might be what you're looking for. Sales perspective aside, YT is a one way video communication format. If more facilitators were as enthusiastic and engaged as Rebecca, there'd be a lot less boring workshop experiences.

@@cillboon I’m talking about the 1 hour video from the link, not this video.
@AJSmart2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rob, thanks for your comment! That would be quite a challenge. As you may have noticed that video serves a different purpose than a youtube video and it would be a bit more difficult to pack all that information in just a 10-minute video. Appreciate the feedback. Hope you learned something from it though. Cheers!

How do you handle participants that won’t share their thoughts because they fear losing their job? They try to have a monopoly on information so that no one else can do their job.
