Ak47 7b+ is the king line of Sasso Ballaro crag. It is hard and historical, and today, my first time trying it, it went down at the fourth attempt.
The line is about 3 section, easy start, the boulder problem in the middle and easy topout on jugs.
The boulder problem is a sequence of 10 super hard moves on small, painful and slippery crimps. It is definitely violent, it requires a ton of finger strength, technique and quite a bit of power endurance. It is a route for real man.
Unfortunately it is a very polished, and some footholds and handholds are not the best quality anymore. Anyway it is magnificent cool to climb.
Today was the hottest day of February, with around 21°C and sun, the conditions were really bad. I did the first three tries on the sun, arriving very close to the send. But then, when the sun went down and the wind started to blow, I had enough energy left to give a try and finish it off.
This route was probably my dream, it is the most feared and the most admired route of the crag, and when I started climbing in this crag, back in 2014/2015 I never thought I could ever do it. It's incredible how things can change when you put effort, hard work and passion in something.
