This is a very interesting series, I'm learning about identity issues adoptees face. Parents, adoptive or not, who can't accept their children as they are have something deeply wrong with themselves. You love your child(ren) for your entire lifetime, especially if they have "other" gender issues or sexuality. Those kids often need extra love and understanding, parents are responsible to love their children as they are. Chelsea is highly intelligent and psychologically stable. At the relatively young age of 29 she has figured out a lot about life.

her adoptive parents were horrible for doing that. how can you let religion come in the way between the love for your child? but she looks mentally strong. more power to her.

I'm so happy you're able to rediscover yourself. I hope your adopted parents remember why they decided to adopt you, remember all the love they had for you and reach out to you.

I don't know if she is looking for her parents, but if she finds them, they may react the same way as her adoptive parents. Still wish her the best, though.

This is so sad. I'm sure if she murdered someone they'd forgive her. She's right through, you can't fight religion.

I feel sad for her parents because they are missing out on an amazing human being. Family is not blood it is those that love and accept you. And why if parents have such rigid standards about religion and who the child may end up being adopt them. Knowing at some point they will have their own world views and opinions. If you can’t love and accept who your child is. Then you add to the hurt. Because then they feel twice abandoned and unwanted. I’m speaking from experience. You do them a disservice by not accepting them for who they are. That’s very sad. My kids are my whole world I accept them for what they do and who they are. Parents forget they were young once. And are just too rigid. It is not about what you think or want it’s about the well being of the human being you swore to love and protect. I hope after 7 years they have changed. And if not I hope she is abundantly happy, because she deserves to be. 🙏❤️

I thought these stories would show the adoptees talking about their adoption, how it was growing up, etc. and that we would follow them in t heir search to meet their biological parents. But they just show us a glimpse of who they are, their interests. I'm confused as to what the goal of the video series was.

I think the goal is to show that not every adoptee is the same nor do they go through the same situations. The fact that some of them dont look for their bio family and others do shows how different each adoptee is from one another.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/fabTiJ6GgLCsnbsm51s Dan has actually addressed this in one of his videos. He wanted to show different goals, expectations, experiences, & lives of other adoptees from the International Korean Adoption Agency (IKAA).

Damn..I can’t imagine raising a child for almost twenty years and then basically disowning them just because they’re not straight. But I suppose religion can do that to people.

No religion cannot do that to anyone, people have choices and they chose to do that...

Their being white doesn't define their actions. Anyone can open their hearts. America happens to be mostly "white."

@Spencer, is there not a lot of adoption where you are from? All races in the US adopt. You are seeing white adoptive families because the costs of international adoption are prohibitive. Each family needed to be at least middle middle-class or upper middle-class. My family (white) was middle middle-class and there's no way they could've afforded it, both parents worked.

a lot and i mean a lot of them do it because they want recognition for being "good people", it feels very much like white saviour. especially the religious ones. as a white person it makes me uncomfortable.
