Akai EWi Solo - MPC Tube Synth - patch SET-UP for a wind synth. how to set up the plugin soft synth in the Akai MPC One to respond to a wind synth breath control input i use the Akai EWi Solo wind synth in USB controller mode breath control is set to send aftertouch information over midi to the MPC soft synth.(tube synth) Tube Synth - free soft synth that comes with the Akai MPC range - (mpc one, mpc live ii, mpc keys 61 and mpc Xse) set up page - set aftertouch to filter, set depth to100% filter page - set filter amount to around 9 o clock, res to 7 or 8 o clock position envelope page - sustain full on amp and filter note in the main page under track - choose a midi track type use the drop down to select:- akai ewi solo over usb midi.

Are you able to directly connect the EWI to the MPC one without using a pc to use it's on board sounds through the EWI?

yes, don't use mac/pc's for music. usb lead - done
