Lol, thanks for making this video about my forums, it's good to see people have such fond memories! Just wanted to say that the forum is still very active, typically 100+ posts every day (more than most individual MPC social media groups), 99% of these are tech support related as we've never really had many people posting up music or beat vids, so it's still a huge, fresh resource for all MPC users. Not trying to compete with the other groups, in fact you'll see me on most of those as well, especially the excellent Reddit group. Regarding the comments about us berating newbies, sorry, that's something I'm very much against and if anyone tries this (e.g. RTFM) it will normally get deleted immediately and I'll step in with more helpful info, I've worked hard to make it a welcoming community, but obviously, just like any online community, some people like to troll, some are having a bad day etc, so these things happen, but we deal with it and keep the forum on point. Same goes for the comments about us being harsh over people's beats, that's simply not true. Constructive criticism is obviously allowed, but if I see someone being harsh or mean, it's deleted. But it's not a beat posting forum, never was, so not sure where that rumour came from. It's been challenging keeping this going for over 20 years now, but I'm really happy with what we've built and that it still gets so many new members every day. But yes, recently maybe too many conversations about 'which MPC sounds better', although ironically these are mostly in reaction to a bunch of youtube videos :)

I still have my AKAI MFC Filter that’s on top of the MPC200XL in the thumbnail. I use to check out the forums back in the day and they helped me fix my 2000XL back in 08 or 09. Dope stuff Homie. 👌🏾

I would post on MPC Forums about my Akai Force and it was like I was a redhead stepchild. I never felt wanted. Then I got a MPC X. I thought they would accept me. But no, they were like, "wait, aren't you the guy that used to own an Akai Force". Now I got the Push 3 and the MPC Forums are no more!!!

I've been a member of that forum for years. When I first bought my MPC4000 back on 2005 and wanted to upgrade my RAM, the members on the MPC Forums gave me good advice on which RAM to get. A few years later, I had a few ideas for features to be included in the JJOS for the MPC1000, such as pitch envelope and track mute groups, that I mentioned on the forum. I also pitched these ideas to JJ through an email and they eventually got implemented!! In addition, thought of the idea of connecting an external midi interface or audio interface to an MPC to expand it's I/O capabilities, which I also shared through the MPC Forums. This was years before the current generation of MPCs saw the light of day. I'm so glad Akai was on the same page when it came to this. These current MPCs are true powerhouses!!!!!

If you're patient you will love it. There's a lot you lose coming from a DAW but there's a lot of satisfaction too. I have the OG MPC One and I pair it with Korg Krome EX for more sounds and OG SP404 for character of sound and its a blast. Need any tips hit me up

@@DisInfoWars so far i always get the most creative when using the mpc especially with the free jura plug in I got. It even comes with great sounding drums so I can just start playing. I just call it an instrument because I am just having so much fun playing it.

Funny you bring up the MPC 4000. Yeah I had the Plus version everything maxed out and paid way too much for it $2700 only to find myself wanting to sell and got a lot less back. It was way too slow getting things done for me. Now I’m realizing a SSD would have sped it up. Oh well all is well I got an X.

There's no hate on mpc-forums, I own it and have spent over 20 years moderating it to ensure it's an overly positive community. I only see that kind of negativity on some facebook groups.
