UPDATE!: I realized I actually messed up the part at 4:06. You need to hit the pencil option on the right side of the sequence options, then hit 2x length until you get how many bars you like, and finally adjust the amount of bars. If you don't do this you will get empty spaces in your beat! My bad, I kind of rushed the video.

You have no idea how difficult it can be to find good tutorials. You do not talk too much. Sometimes I want that quick tutorial with snappy edits and I can Matrix it up in 2 minutes. I do not want this when I'm learning to sample and chop, or sequence etc. I want you talking about all the details. Great f'ing tutorials. Highly educational. Thank you sir. Very nice, this very mode is one of the reasons I went with the MPC over the Machine. Sequences within sequences gets really powerful when you start thinking about something like an intro->verse->chorus ->verse->chrous ->bridge / drop ->chorus ->chorus ->end. Each place where I put a space in in this kind of setup, you can do things like simply adding or removing effects, or using automation for effects for some crazy variety. For example, my bridge / drops, I like to use the lowfi filter with the distortion fx and really amp it up, and then keep that same fx on for the first chorus after the drop, then take those filters off when the chorus repeats near the end. Then, you can start doing really crazy things like my current project, a 1 hour 12 minute continuous audio file that contains six songs that seemlessly transition into the next song (no gap between a song ending). While I pretty much know how to use the MPC, I just wish they would fix some of the quirky things, like, I dunno, when I make a new track, why would it not be automatically selected? Also, if you have a spare MPC Live 2, Ill take it, I really could use the external speakers, I still have the MPC Live 1 and the external speakers would be great for writing at work (currently have to tote around usb powered speakers)

Hey, I just got my MPC ONE about 5 days ago and, while being a lifelong music LOVER but never trying to learn any 'real' instruments, lol (and wanting to MAKE TECHNO, EDM, ETC. this purchase was a no-brainer) I am DEFINTELY STILL a baby when it comes to 'production' but can already see the PROMISE and CAPABILITIES of this machine! It sounds like YOU have at heart SINCE experience with drum machines, synths, etc whereas this is the FIRST piece of hardware I've EVER bought besides flirting with DJ'ing and buying a pair of used TECHNICS, a mixer and some monitors back in '01-'02 when I was 21 which I never really ended up doing much with them after my monitors broke and i sold them😔 (Hell! Who knows how good I'd be if stuck WITH IT since then? Anyway, good luck my friend and just remember to HAVE FUN!! That's pretty much why I bought the MPC ONE! I felt that is NEVER too late to start something new and although I may not be out RAVING all weekend, I ABSOLUTELY STILL LOVE THE MUSIC and I think it's about time I scratch my creative itch!.... Which I KNOW this machine is CAPABLE OF DOING!😜🤪

Nice tutorial. One thing it skipped over that I found out the hard way, is that before you copy a sequence for use in a song, you need to make sure that all the tracks use the same length as the sequence they're tied to. I had a few tracks with just 2 bar tracks inside an 8 bar sequence. That works well within the sequence itself, but apparently, when copying it into a song, those 2 bar tracks will just play for 2 bars, then silence for bars 3-8 until it loops again. Really bizarre song mode behavior if you ask me. So the lesson learned here is: be sure to copy bars inside the tracks to fill them all up to whichever length you have for the entire sequence, before thinking about converting it into a proper song.
@Moneybiz1012 жыл бұрын
I had that problem but now I just just make 8 copies. Intro! 2 8 bar versus, 8 bar hook and so on. I get 16 bars now

To have competitive sound, you have to export, I think, for final release. But for artist demos should be fine
