People confuse 'simple' with intuitive or logical. Truth is, the interface makes not much sense when it comes to that.

As someone who has done music as a hobby for the last 17 years, and has worked with some of the craziest interfaces and DAWs, turning on the MPC One was a bit overwhelming. Thanks for simplifying everything, because I was considering returning it right away to get something much simpler! The Korg Electribe 2 is "easy" compared to this! Well, it kinda is, but you see my point.

"Don't make it complicated, Keep it easy." That's the truth right there! By him saying simple so much in this video it made me believe I was making everything way too complicated before. I've been trying to outdo myself the whole time I've been making beats but just by bringing it back to just a simplistic beat, it changed my entire world. Sometimes less is perfect. No need to have a billion different instruments n plug-ins. Keep it simple and build off that the best advice anyone could ever give n any n video. This Guy is made for teaching others. Thank you my beat brother from another Mother!

Dude, you should know that you're a god send. You teach ridiculously well. Your instruction is very very clear and helpful. I found your videos when I was at work and been watching them a lot. I am so excited to get my first MPC. I dreamed of having one as a kid but my family or I never really had money for me to have those kinds of hobbies. I made music and made due with rag tag equipment and basic computer programs. Since the pandemic I Mac'd up and got Logic Pro X and have been letting music be my "go-to" or my "pandemic flex". I am happy to say that by the end of the week I will have my first MPC - the MPC One- and I am so excited to get it. I haven't been a kid for many years, but I can say that this is the first time of excitement that I can remember since I was a kid. So grateful to have found your videos. Hey Matthew. Thank you for this video. I just bought an MPC One for cheap to learn the workflow before I jump into an MPC X. I've been an MPC user since the early 90s. I still have my MPC2000 that I bought when it first came out in '97. I can't lie, I was a little clusterf*cked when I first turned it on. I'm used to the simplicity of the older MPCs. But this video did help me to start figuring things out slowly. I became a sub thanks to this video and will be watching all your other videos. Thanks again. 👍👍👍👍👍

just got a MPC One. I'm moving from Ableton live, (used it for more than a decade). I'm totally overwhelmed and most tutorials consider the person knows a few things first. The mpc work-flow has a very steep learning curve, Not intuitive with so many menus and options. This is Really helpful how you broke this down into baby-steps and walk through the basics to someone like they just opened it from the box.. Just enough to break through the initial frustration hump to get creative. Liked and sub'd.

So I had my MPC and commented on another video the other day. Today was my first day of actually trying to get something going on the MPC One. Remember, I am a COMPLETE beginner to this stuff, but have been playing bass and guitar for over 40 years professionally. Anyway, this video is MUCH better than the one's AKAI puts out for starting! I could not get anywhere with theirs. I got yours going, took my time with it, and got a 99% accurate copy of the demo you did in the video. I'm blown away. I don't know how long it takes a noob to catch on where this is second nature like it is with you, but I am stoked! I just wanted to pass along a HUGE thank you, and I am going to get your name to some people in the industry. Like I said, I am a pro. I know many pros, but am not going to be tacky and name drop. All I can say is that with things the way they are in the world with covid and stuff - a lot of us are going outside our comfort zones during this time and working with modern technology since it is good for the brain, as well as being a great way to just be able to get ideas and such down without anyone else. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. They are beyond helpful, Matthew!

Once you have downloaded an expansion. Make sure you have a USB stick or SD card in the computer, Also place a folder in the USB or SD named expansions. If you use the MPC 2 software on your computer. Go to the upper left click on the 3 line stack, Hamburger. Go to tools, Go down to Expansion manager. Click lower right on export select the USB or SD and select the Expansions you want to export and then again lower Right corner click on expansions. The computer will then display the software working to export. I suggest just let the computer do the export and do not do anything else on the computer. Hope this helps everyone.

Matt..."Thank You!" I haven't even made it into the first 3 minutes and your humble attitude has made me a fan. This is how videos should be taught when it comes to new devices where all one needs is just a few tips on getting started. I agree with your comments on how some folks an be jerks, premadonnas. Not ar all appealing. So the simplicity helps everyone learn. Now when a person ges better its beause they've learned the foundational steps, then they graduate. And of course with time and work, everyone gets better. No one's a master at everything, so time builds progress and hopefully helps that person teach the next person. Thank you Matt!!! You're a rare find, your approach is valuable for those who understand that cussin' and fussin' through a video is a HUGE turnoff. Blessings brother.

Coming from an Octatrack I was thinking MPC must be easy getting started with, can’t be more complicated then the octa was. I turned on the MPC One (never having used a MPC one before) and was totally clueless what to do, haha. Thanks for sharing, this is a really great intro

I figured I should elaborate on my "VERY HELPFUL" comment... 4 days in with my MPC One and THIS VIDEO helped beyond turning it on. I definitely said "Now what!?!?" after powering it on and this video helped alot. I'm not a MIDI or MPC knowledgeable beat maker and this was just what I needed to get started. More to learn, but this was a must needed video to get started.

Yo Matthew, you're the 1st guy who actually made a beginners tutorial for sequencing tracks on the MPC One, basic enough to be understand by beginners throughout the entire process! I've watched dozens of "so called beginners tutorials" but they fail to realize that a true beginner doesn't know what they know, and the information is not understood! The only thing you left out was how to save your work at the end! Truly I'm impressed, so I'm subscribing! Honestly man, you deserve a MEDAL!! Great job!
