OK but is it possible to make MPH knobs match ableton values ? You see... when you turn knob it first jumps to MPK value. It is like MPK is master not ableon, and if I am turning macro in ableton MPK value stay the same, it is not following. I know there is Take over modes but that is not exactly what I am looking for. Because these are Endless encoders it should be possible.
@FoulOleRonThe3rd3 жыл бұрын
I would also like to know this! I have the mk2 and was considering upgrading because it really annoys me when the values jump when I use one of the knobs. I assumed endless encoders meant there would be no jumps, but at 5:20 it looks like they default to zero. (I guess that's the value those knobs were on at the time?) Can anyone confirm if it always does that?
@CO-kd6sd3 жыл бұрын
@@FoulOleRonThe3rd In the same boat here. It's one of the reasons people get endless encoders. @Matthew Stratton Do you know about this?
@CO-kd6sd3 жыл бұрын
@@FoulOleRonThe3rd I figured it out. Under MIDI settings in Ableton, select the dropdown menu next to "Takeover Mode" and choose "Value Scaling". It's been working for me but there are times when adjustments are made in larger amounts instead of gradually. It's a bit random. Hopefully it works for you.

This was very helpful. I don't know how anyone could figure this out on their own coming in cold like me. I could not (so far) get the Ableton knobs to reflect the Akai knobs as per your instructions, Could this be because I have an Akia MPK mini, not a mk iii? The drop down menu in Ableton does not give me the a menu choice exactly for the midi I have. I chose a Mk I in the preferences but had to settle for a MK III in the input and output columns. Is there a better path I should have taken?
