You are well known making comparison of akai samplers, so I have a question: does it make sense to compare s2800 with s3000xl? Do they sound different, Or they are the same samplers with different options and complectation?

I have a s2000 can get a s3000 for 300 does make sense ?? To buy one? Is it the same sound as your mpc 3000?
@RoomAtTheTopStudio3 жыл бұрын
They sound pretty close. What does the 3000 do that the 2000 doesn't? I know the 2000 is sample editing by numbers where as the 3000 is by wav but are their any other differences?
@medysio3 жыл бұрын
Same sample rates and components but S3000 comes with standard 8 outputs, FX section and S3200 additionally has 2nd filter/reverb board. I never owned S2000 but S3200 allows to create extremely complex multi-layered programs. S2000 is stripped down S3000xl which is based on OG S3000

S1000- s2800 is the MPC 3000 sound engine (ad/dsp/da). The s3000 series is an MPC 2000 engine (ad/dsp/da). Backwards, but true.

@@medysio So it's worth getting the S3200 then?

@@BigStereoVR wouldn't the MPC2000 sampling circuitry etc be more related to the rack 'XL' series? S-2000/S-3000XL/S-3200XL, rather than the earlier S-3000 series ?

@@EvLoutonian all the answers about sampler topology are in the service manuals (not user manuals). I can't answer "why" to anything Akai has ever done: the marketing department always had the last say.

I use s3000, but s2000 is also good, darker or more cloudy than s3000. (but S3000 is very easy to use ... even I can use ... for me, which is the most important!!)

How come your S3000 doesn’t have ears?

You can remove them - I don't have rack so I don't need them :)

The main board in them is the same . Its just that the 3000 has a better UI

The one he's using is the S3000 Classic. The XL had the same board as the S2000

Not much different set the bad with the same would be the same most important part and make sure you sample peak level the same thing some people may have the peek level hi then my s2000 is the same sound as mpc3000 if you have a litte bit different peek from s2000 then mpc3000 it will sound little different there a lot of people who compare but people who compare some time but don't do it right from sample peek level and band with s3000xl same thing as s2000 make sure you sample the same setting

S2000 is grittier. S3000 is more hifi/open. Honestly, in a mix, I don't think it will make a huge impact on the sound if you use either.
@yesgeorge3332 жыл бұрын
s3000 sounds grittier. s2000 just sounds muffled.
@justinmerritt38432 жыл бұрын
@@yesgeorge333 I own both of them and I can attest, the S2000 sounds exactly like a MPC 2000Xl, maybe a little better. The S3000 sounds big with no additional mixing involved.
