I probably would have as well but I actually never did hate him. I found out about Akaza from another vid and then I read the manga. I mean yeah I was bummed about rengoku cause he was so cool. But I’ve always loved Akaza from the beginning cause everything about him was just badass. I really just chalked it up to the series and anime. Like that saint saiya lost canvas series when almost all the zodiacs were dying one after another.

Fun facts Akaza's compass needle's snowflake pattern may just be a direct reference to his late girlfriend Koyuki as her name contained the kanji for snow and she also wore three snow flake designed hairpins. Also his upper vest and hair colour could also be a reference to his girlfriend's kimono colour that being pink. Many of Akaza's attacks and techniques are named after fireworks, a reference to his promise to Koyuki to see the fireworks.

Everything about Akaza is tragic. He refuses to kill women, because of his love for his late fiancée, and he hates the weak, because the rival dojo wasn’t able to beat him and his sensei/father-in-law, so they poisoned the well. He has navy blue stripes across his body, reminiscent of the criminal brands he was given for pickpocketing to buy medicine for his sickly father, but instead of stealing money, he’s stealing lives. His Compass Needle takes the form of a snowflake, as Koyuki wore snowflake hairpins, and his attacks are based on the Soryu style that Keizo taught him, and are named after fireworks, like what he promised to see with Koyuki.

There's another scene that didn't publish in manga that the heir nearby dojo fell in love with Koyuki. But he had violent and arrogant personality. He don't like Koyuki being sick. He also almost kill Koyuki by forcing her go outside and Koyuki starting to having asthma because her sickness. When he saw that, he abandoned Koyuki. Luckly Akaza discovered Koyuki when she in pain state. Keizou was angry and arranged to have a match with the dojo next door. Keizou went easy to them but Akaza beat them badly. So they win, but the heir got angry try to swing an actual sword to Hakuji. Well, Hakuji punched the sword and it broke. The next door dojo accepted their loss and apologize. They also stop harassing them. After few years, the heir heard about Akaza is enganged with Koyuki. He still angry and gathered some students tto fought with Akaza but they lost. So, they poisoned the well. The old lady that living at the other side saw the heir and some students walk from Keizou dojo. After drinking the poison, Keizou immediatly carry Koyuki to the doctor when he also vommiting blood. But Koyuku was already dead and it took several hours for Keizou to die. He's more suffered for poison. Well after that, Akaza kill 67 students including the heir.

I think the author can do whatever they want. And that includes letting a few extra people choose to go to hell with their loved one (and Akaza wasn't the only one. Rui/the spider demon's family also did that as well).

One of the things that always stuck out to me in the movie and beginning of Season 2, was that Akaza never used Blood Demon Arts (or at least never said it). It was always Technique Development or Destructive Death. I think it speaks a lot to his mentality and leftover principle, such as refusing to eat women. He truly seemed like someone who just wants to get stronger and be a better fighter. Like, other than the regeneration, he didn't put too much stock into being a demon and just wanted to be stronger and stronger.

I still think Akaza could've ended up stronger than Upper moon 1 and even Muzan, had he persisted past that point and not chosen death, since he was starting to evolve to the point he was surpassing his initial limits, as well as getting a close confrontation with someone who understands the unseen world. It's only natural people are not going to like the guy that killed their favs, I wouldn't, and I didn't like Akaza. But at the same time, learning about Akaza/his back story made people sympathize with him, not to mention his strength & how powerful he is... As in literature, as in life sometimes "demons" were never demons, it was the people around them who hurted them that cause them to turn into "demons". There's a reason they constantly show the Demons backstory once they die, or their dying, or the demon slayers are able to cut their heads off. It's a flashback to their past life, and the people who love/care for them in their past life. Once they see them, sometimes they give up, and don't want to fight anymore. Look at Rui, Daki, Kyogai...etc Now look at At Akaza. Akaza was very different, and he was because he did not eat woman/children, and we learn that because he had a fiance who he deeply loved that was taken away, so as his masters. That's what made him angry, because those people who took them, as a demon he sees them as "weak". That's why during the fight with Rengoku, he saids "I hate weak people" & target Tanjiro! C'mon don't be dense!

Before becoming Demon: Demon 1 couldn't land a single blow on his dojo instructor, whereas akaja kills 67 dojo martial artists with bare hand shattering their bodies into pieces like a demon. My theory is, he was confined to demon number 3 because he still didn't eat more women's and humans. He could've become demon number 2 easily if he was killing people like the real demon no.2 . And he could've even be more better than demon 1. The way his character does the impossible, I even feel like if muzan called him coward then he could've won over muzans cell manipulation. And make him moon walk out

The death of Rengoku was a hard one to bear, but Kyojuro died honorably, and Akaza gave him that. Akaza is by far my favorite character in this franchise. The creators of Demon Slayer did a really good job with his story, personality and death.

Yeah. His character design and his charisma in the battle between Rengoku was insane. That's what made the fight more hyped up.. the way he kept asking Rengoku to become a demon and Rengoku saying no. He's one of the best villain in demon slayer He did still anger me so much in demon slayer for killing off Rengoku. I cursed at him and then once finished reading his arc regretted everything. When I started reading his backstory I was like there's no way this piece of shit can get any sympathy for me after killing off Rengoku. But alas it's demon slayer and his story had me tearing up.

Everyone really likes Akaza (Whoever read the manga atleast) because he is shown to be a woman respecter, what is rare for his era. Many treat girls like objects (Especially in that era, cough the entertainment district is about oirans and such, if you don't understand; women were merchandise, let's say that) But I think that Akaza actually somehow never lost his memories about Koyuki and his dojo sensei, he just forced him to keep it in his subconcious mind, especially since his attacks are snowflakes and named after fireworks, not to mention, he's a woman respecter; probably because of Koyuki

@@coolkidgang4817 there are different ways of ranking. Kokushibo and akaza are fighting experts while douma is more strong than akaza in terms of Blood demon art. Due to akaza's and kokushibo's fighting experience they managed to survive decapitiatio but douma doesn't know that stuff due to his lack of fighting skill. Douma would win against akaza but would lose against the demon slayers
