AKC Virtual Novice Obedience Demo

This is a demonstration of an AKC Virtual Novice obedience performance. It was a very windy day. At the end of the Sit Stay Get Your Leash you see the sign directly behind the dog fly off, startling the dog temporarily. The dog maintains the sit and recovers, good dog!

Lovely dog & nice performance. I'd add a suggestion for those who might be unaware - CHECK THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PAVEMENT with your hand before you begin!

Can I ask how you are holding your signs in place? I'm having trouble keeping mine upright, and not blown away.

Tape would be my guess, it's what I have to do with mine.

Question: I am just starting. I am working on about 5 or 6 signs each week because as a handler I do not know the signs well enough so I really need to walk them. Should I not treat my dog at all while I/we are learning the signs and wait until I go through each 6 signs a day? Looks like the leash hand is left hand. Can I keep leash in my right hand?

I'm a little confused. I thought you weren't allowed to touch the dog. Would you get points taken off for touching the dog?

She touched the dog as part of the virtual exam and after the end of each exercise, which is permitted.
