Thanks for all the cool comments - def appreciated! Awesome projects I subbed to your channel and checking them out. I won't stop until this bike is done right and on the market!

It’s great! Been following this for a while. But I do think that a 500 CX engine will be underpowered. A BMW k75/100/1100 engine would be a better choice and more like the bike in the film, as those engines sound more futuristic with their distinctive ‘engine whine’. All the best.👍🏾🛠🏍

Awesome thanks for sticking around! Yeah I agree, my plan all along has been to upgrade the engine to the other cx platforms, incrementally moving up from a cx500, to cx650, to cx500 turbo and then a cx650 turbo - the cx650 turbo puts out about 100HP. I actually now own running cx500 turbo AND a cx650 turbos, a local enthusiast was selling the pair. Both are rare bikes, I was lucky to find them. Neither are showroom quality with some good dings and scratches, but both are running fine. I'll get them in an upcoming video. So I'm methodically increasing the power and features of the bike with each stage, I wanted to start simpler with less power in my first stage. A 45HP 500cc motor is definitely underpowered, but a good place to start for a brand new untested design. A 100 HP cx650 turbo in this thing will be crazy!. I am actually seriously considering offering a version that will support the K100, I may make kit versions and sell different frame kits for 2 or 3 popular motors, I havent vetted the design yet but the long low K100 might fit pretty well with minimal modification. It's also the engine that people suggest the most. The K100 is first on deck!

@@matus1976 The K75 is a lot smoother, as it has a balanced crank. It’s actually a Renault engine designed for Peugeot. The K bikes are more like 2 wheeled cars.👍🏾🛠🏍

Nice Work! How heavy do you think it will be in comparison to a upscaled/ equivaneltly sized motorcycle? How did you plan to reduce the weight?
@matus19762 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I'd guess the prototype will run around 1,200 lbs wet (with rider and fuel/oil) Similar to a current high end touring bike. A refined weight and performance optimized build could optimistically come about half to 3/4 that, some 600 - 800 lbs, more like a bagger or loaded cruiser. I'm over-engineering many of the parts, cast aluminum parts are bulky and simple, the fork is a large steel welded piece instead of billet aluminum, down tubes are thick walls, the frame tubes are square and thick walled instead of gently bending round tubes, etc. So better materials, better design, more processing steps (like machine extra material away in bulk aluminum parts) better structure and design, thinner wall tubing, etc. Definitely lots of places to take weight off.

Si buscas una moto de Akira aquí hay una muy buena llamada "Akira and Ducati" y está buena su apariencia así como la disposición al sentarse como en el anime, saludos desde Cusco Perú

That's right! planning on producing these and starting with a kit! Check out the frame jig, I can easily make more frames with that, and the later videos. Thanks for watching!

This is super cool. Have you tried how it feels to sit with a helmet on? Your field of view might change or be limited if there is a lot of helmet-to-pad contact.
@matus19762 жыл бұрын
Oh that's a good point, thanks for mentioning it, I haven't actually. The natural posture you take when sitting reclined with the head straight up ends up being in front of where you would think it would be with a more normal sitting up right posture, so I figured this would leave me room for a helmet (actually I thought I may need to make the head rest cushion a little adjustable, sliding forward since it may be too far back) but I'm definitely going to test this specifically now! Thanks for the comment!!
