PT-5 and PT-1 (with AKM adapter) are designed for rifles with regular fixed stock like AKM, AK-74 and rifles based on them (like WASR-10). Will speak about their differences, advantages and show how to install them on AK-74.

No overall firearm length restrictions in South Africa. Very interested in one of these stocks for my AKM, however, I do have the side rail adapter, will be interesting to see if the stock can fold with a optic rail on.

PT-5 will not fold with fixation with side rail on. This question can be solved if you use B-33 dust cover

If I was to purchase the PT-1 Stock with the Fixed adapter, will I still be able to use my Side optic rail? The Pt-5 folding mechanism looks like it sticks out beyond the receiver.

Hello... i have a question, I recently installed a B-10m on my AK and the rail is slanted roughly 5 degrees up when compared to the barrel...Is this normal, and will it hamper the installation of future zenitco accessories.

It won’t hamper. This can be considered as normal as unfortunately on AK the barrels are not always parallel to the receiver

I don't get it. So you can only put pt-1 with non-foldable adapter due to laws in Russia. But can you buy a foldable stock AK like vityaz and simply mount pt-1 which will still fold or can you buy just fixed stock AKs? So the pt-1 is just for export and not for use in Russia? Pt-1 without the adapter still can be folded, right?

Yes, we can buy foldable stock AK (for civilians - Saiga). But civilian models have a mechanism that blocks shooting with folded stock. And civilians with AK-based rifles with fixed stock can’t install folding stock, because their rifle has no mechanism that blocks a shot. So with a folding stock they will be able to shoot with stock folded which will mean the length of the rifle will be less than 80 cm. Which is restricted.

So if I had a fixed stock AKM and wanted the pt-1, I will need the adapter to mount it. However the adapter will block the folding feature, correct? Is there an adapter not blocking it or will I need to go with the pt-5? Edit: I watched the other video with Anastasia and I understand now. There won't be any adapter not blocking the folding feature because it would allow the people to bypass the law and have a folding stock in AKM which could be fired with the stock folded.

Alright for starters great video. But I do have a question, i own a Saiga and im still unsure if I should get the PT1 or the PT5. Mine has that little safety tab thing however I dont have any kind of mechanism that prevents me from shooting it while folded so do I get the PT1 with the Saiga adapter or the PT5?

Depends on what Saiga you have. if it has a folding stock originally you get PT-1 (or PT-3 if you want a tube based stock). if it has non folding stock originally and you want it to be folding you take PT-5 (PT-1 does not give capability to fold)

How is it not compatible with the side mount cuz to be honest it looks like you have quite a bit of room just curious because i have a Romanian wasr-10 v-2 that im trying to find a side folding stock for but it has the dovetail mount on the side and a fixed stock so id have to go with the pt5

PT-5 folds with fixation if the rifle has dovetail joint on side. But it does not fold with fixation if there is a side rail installed on the dovetail joint.

No, it does not fold right. And folding with optic is not provided as most Russian AKMs do not have side optic mount, they are used with B-33 dust cover.
