Stephen, I am so grateful for your videos. What I am craving is a new video where somebody gives you a pile of marbles, and you think out loud so we can see then process just as us novices are faced with figuring out maker, method of making and time of making. First video would be starting with more common ones, and successive videos could go increasingly to more rare varieties.

Hi Jo and thank you ! I do plan to try something like that, the Beach Marbles Identifications is pretty similar content to what you are describing, and there is a section in the Alley Agate Identifications part 1 video where I go in to separating swirl marbles . I need to finish up and upload some pre recorded content first, and then I will focus on basic identification stuff. Thank you for the request and viewership!

Hello Stephen! Just for fun, I’m trying to identify my dad’s pre-WWII marbles. I won’t take the time to explain here why Dad treasured them so much, but when he gave them to me, I knew they were precious. For more than twenty years, I’ve kept them safe in a big glass jar. Now I know I have several Akro Agate red and yellow marbles!!! And so my journey begins…. I cannot thank you enough for your help 💐

Hey Stephen, thanks for showing us your beautiful collection. I'm pretty overwhelmed by all the styles and brands. Do the limeades always iridesce in blacklight? I have a marble that I thought might be an Akro Agate limeade in a kind of corkscrew with yellow, oxblood, and blue along with the green base, but blacklight doesn't do anything to it like it does to yours so now I'm not so sure. It seems pretty aged with some signs of wear, but I think it's pretty high quality. Then again, that could be my inexperience talking.

I love your videos! Ive watched this one 3 or 4 times in 2 days. Your marbles are so beautiful they are mesmerizing. I have a question about the glowing from the UV light. Will this only happen in Akro Agate marbles? I have a few hundred marbles that came from my grandparents house ( In the 1970s, I remember her referring to them as antique marbles, so they have to be old). I am about to pull my hair out trying to figure them out (in a good way :)). I shone a uv light on them and a whole bunch lite up like gangbusters and lots have hot pink and florescent orange ribbons, squiggles, and patches. If I knew that this meant that these were probably Akro Agates, then maybe I could use them as a frame of reference for figuring out some of the other marbles...or at least I'd have a starting point. Thank you so much for your videos. I look forward to seeing more!

Some of your really Ultra rare Popeyes will contain uranium glass. I have only ever seen a very few in my entire life of collecting. Akro is my favorite machine-made brand being I'm a buckeye. As you know I'm not A game on my machine made knowledge. Any input you have on this I would love to hear it. 🤔I also have a Blue ox blood uranium glass along with one Popeye. 🤔
@stephenbahrmarbles Жыл бұрын
Shane Uranium shows up in all of the “Ade” type Akros , Blood &Bones, patches, and many others , it is by no means “ultra rare” . I’m not sure what kind of input you are looking for exactly.. but I collected machine-mades for several years and studied up before I decided to make a video on them. There is an awful lot to learn and it’s extremely easy to make errors in machine-made videos.
@shaneapplegate1975 Жыл бұрын
@@stephenbahrmarbles ugh sorry for the misinformation. These machine mibs just getting more and more complicated the farther I dive into them. I guess I still think they' are because I only have one UV reactive Popeye 😞 anyhow like I said this American marble thing is important to me so if I'd screw something up make sure you straighten me out I'm trying to do more and more research. I use to collect marbles when I was in my 50's. I am very disappointed that the marble shows are too far away from me. For some reason dealers will not sell through the mail. They are afraid that someone will return marbles for a refund and the marbles won't be the same that were sent to them.
