Every time I see this guy's awesome videos, I am like: Hell Yeah! I'm going to start a new highly detailed city with his nice ideas. And then, always on the second thought: Never mind, I have neither the time nor the talent to do something remotely cool like Akruas. Keep it up !
@RobertDoornbosF12 жыл бұрын
I had the same a lot of times. But a couple of things I did for keeping motivation. - Have clear reference images or end result sketch, this way you can guess how much you still need to do. And see what exactly you are working towards. - Remember these videos are compressed, no one can build things as fast as he can. It's trail and error. - Make sure you have all assets before starting. It's veey annoying to keep going in and out of the game, real morivatio killer

@@RobertDoornbosF1 I haven't played the game for a while now, because my last city...well current city, has a... let's call it slight traffic problem. (playing on an island map and people try to get from one side to the other). I do not have problems with assets, because I add them if i see something interesting. Right now I am searching towers, similar to the one from the last video, that light up in the night. I think one off my main problems with this game is, that I see these creative things that he puts in his cities and I try to intimidate them but I can't because I still try to understand PO for example.

This is unbelievable! This station is a vision, I don’t even understand how your mind keeps track of all this detail
@ultmateragnarok83762 жыл бұрын
Something that I love the most about the station itself is the contrast in color between the more industrial style harsh orange lighting over the tracks and the somewhat softer blue lights over the platforms. This color contrast is also shown in the red points of light in the ventilation/ductwork/piping areas between some areas and the greenery and green lights atop the station's larger structure. This new section definitely makes the station feel more.. not entirely 'more complete', it's obviously still not fully done, but closer to it. The way it fans out feels quite realistic from both an artistic architectural perspective and as an efficient use of space. Despite the clear lack of realism in some aspects of the city, it still feels like it could be realistically designed that way. I think the only missing thing is perhaps some of the tracks which end could lead to closed doors, so that rather than seeming like only a station platform, it seems like the trains can also be brought through those and under the station itself for repairs or loading/unloading of cargo. Though I would like to actually _see_ the industrial stuff like cargo when looking at the station, instead of merely tucking the function under a building and not showing much of it.

I really hope there's a future DLC (or even CS2) that introduces railway timetables. It can be really simple like OpenTTD (trains take an amount of time to complete the route and you can force trains to stick to that timetable as well as schedule trains) or even a custom method.

This station build is my absolute favourite project EVER done in Cities Skylines, it looks absolutely awesome!! I've wanted to see someone make something like this ever since the game first came out, it always make me happy to see a new episode of Asturis in my notifications so I can see this megastructure take shape! :)

Fantastic work as always Akruas! I absolutely love your pedestrian plazas, and I don’t mean to throw shade, but please give your cims some shade! I’m sure all these open plazas are baking that poor dog (the only cim who matters). Some sort of glass roof over plazas would allow you to see all the cims moving around while protecting them from Asturis’ tropical sun (let’s just say that it’s some futuristic “smart glass”). It would also differentiate plazas or be useful to break up the space. It might be good in the station area, because it sucks rushing to your train with no shade lol. Luminou has a great hexagonal glass roof on the workshop (which I think you used in Aurelia), but PO might mess up the transparency. Think of the dog!

I would love to see more air traffic. In the workshop there are blimps that actually look like spaceships etc. I think it would be a great addition to the city.

Maybe new dead-end platforms can serve just for stadium events. It is not uncommon to have special station for stadium events when a lot attendees are expected. Learn something about Meadowlands station in New Jersey or Merkur spiel arena/Messe Nord station in Dusseldorf. Anyway, good job as always. Keep it up.

Consider doing more rooftop gardens! They're a great way to add visual variety and break up large flat areas that look unrealistic. Also those big pedestrian plazas could use small attractions like stages, cafes, water features/fountains and so on. Or even just making a pattern with a secondary color. Maybe look at the Boston city hall plaza renovation design for inspiration, since before the renovation it was just a huge featureless brick plaza and they're adding lots of nice elements to it.
