About the Project:
Join me as we create a map rich with natural beauties, distant towns and a bustling metropolis. The aim is to create an island that feels as big as a state or territory, including vast biomes, mountains, rivers and an endless coastline. Set in Australia and New Zealand (maybe an island in between), this map takes inspiration from open world video games and the way in which the game devs create such immersive environments, such as GTA 4 and 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Mafia 4 maps. To take it one step further, every thing on the map should feel unique and distinct. No city district, town or mountain should feel or look the same.

I wish Dundee was a real city. I would love to ride all of the public transit opportunities in the city. Recommendation- You should add a tram depot by the airport since thats the end of the line. Its not always like that but it will make tram connection more complex.

TM:PE has a setting that disables the "car pocket spawning". If I remember correctly it`s the "realistic parking option" (default is off)

For the vacant area by the intersection - How about a plane? In the UK we have we have old/replica planes as you drive in and out of the main roads. For example Heathrow had Concord there but think it’s an Emirates plane now. Some of our old wartime airfield (now museums) or active airbases will have Spitfires outside. Could be cool and a nice way to add some story/history to Oceania 🙂

For the service road at the airport, can you not just ban all traffic on it with Traffic President? And then only allow buses (and maybe service vehicles) on it. If you drag a bus line to the airport and make it use airport buses you have the effect you want I think.

I love those DLR trains you used. They sold some of the older ones to the Essen metro back in the day where they got this beautiful industrial yellow color scheme. Fits perfectly with the more edgy shape of the trains. Also the Ruhrbahn operating company has a black colliery winding tower as its logo which compliments the 70s-rustbelt-esthetics just perfectly.

My city in Cities: Skylines has an airport that is very hard for pilot’s to land at. At first you have to fly over a mountain, then be very careful when landing as the runways are short and only a short bit from where the runway starts, there is a railway line. There’s also another runway that is also very short and has a busy road a short bit away from the end of the runway.

Great ad, something you can add to the airport complex is some warehouses and offices for the cargo part of the airport, also maybe something like a DFO or Harbour Town, or a Bunnings, part of the airport land the government has leased out for retail

Talking about spawning points at the airport: have you already tried the BOB mod? It is a really cool mod, because with this one, You can change the props of buildings, streets, or anything else you can think of. with some buildings, you can even change the spawning points. Also, when it comes to detailing the airport, what about a museum where are you can for e.g., present disused planes of the Dundee fleet or something like that. PS I wish you nice holidays 🛫🏝️

One of those "unique" things you can get for your airport is a Boeing 747 hostel! We've had one in Stockholm at Arlanda Airport. It's essentially an old disused 747 converted into a hotel. Maybe not directly linked to Dundee itself, but a Dundee Air branded 747 with a Hotel sign in front, plus a few spawn points could work wonders!

On the main road right by Heathrow airport there is a bowling alley, didn't know if this would be a fun quirky thing you'd like to add to the airport. Also, there is an airport vet centre just outside too, for all the pets that travel into and out of the country that need to pass checks or be in isolation for a period of time

Turning on realistic parking should prevent pocket cars, since the people will walk to their cars before driving off. If you already have it enabled, though, then I'm not sure.

I'm a new follower and I've been enjoying it. I'm slightly behind you in skill, but I have some pretty realistic parts of my city going. Your techniques go above and beyond in detailing, and I'd really enjoy a first person tour through your most detailed areas. Perhaps following a person that then takes a bus and then gets out of the bus.

I'm not sure your drop off/pick up points are very accurate. Usually you'd find some short stay parking spots/bays right in front of the terminal where people drop others off and leave all within a couple of mins or so. Atm the traffic is using the bus lane (which I've never seen right in front of an airport terminal personally) to drop off/pick up passengers.
