I like how Jack just immediately jumps into the portal. So many of his previous opportunities to go back in time have failed that he foregoes any contemplation, reflection or goodbye speech and just bolts into the portal. The worst part is, had he done this with some of the previous portals he'd encountered, he would have succeeded decades earlier.

The tragic thing about this is that Aku essentially tricked Jack into harming innocents with the sword which is normally impossible except for the fact that the little rams had been twisted and fueled by Aku's magic, which is probably why after killing their beast forms, they not only reverted back but outright perished due to the sword literally having to go through them in order to purge Aku's essence. This is probably what Jack ment when he said "the sword left me" He had let his negative emotions control him. Only instead of fighting his demons and regaining inner peace like he had done before, this time it cost the lives of innocent beings which was probably the one thing which would guarantee Jack's right to the sword being revoked.

It makes sense for this to cause Jack to lose his sword, since Jack, in his anger, forgot to do the math and ask himself if the giant rams have anything to do with the baby sheep who led him to the portal

@@EldenRingplayer407 Even if Jack realised right off the bat the monsters were the baby sheep its possible there's nothing he could do to cure them and would have to kill them anyway as a mercy kill. Since Jack clearly understands the concept of mercy killing as the episode with the farting dragon when Jack faces the dragon and the dragon tells Jack he is in pain and needs help Jack at first was gonna kill the dragon thinking the dragon was asking him to kill him until the dragon tells him to go inside him and find the source of his pain.

Fun Fact: this flashback scene of Jack accidently killed those 3 innocent Rams was never part of their original script of how he lost his sword. It has something to do with the relation between Jack and the green ghost horsemen in a different environment and how did Jack REALLY lose his sword and what was the true cause of his mental anguish, hallucinations and the Horsemen haunting him around the first 3 episodes. In episode 1 of Season 5 when Scaramouche was asking Jack where's his sword, in the flashback scene everything has the same eerie green colored back round (in which the horsemen shares the same green coloration) and the floors are brick rock compared to the peach colored solid crack floors in episode 7. Also if you look at the scene when Jack's sword is falling to the pit a ghost like face in the mist can be seen, its really creepy, use your phone camera for a better look.

Coming back to this, it seems like Greg Baldwin really nails the lower register of Aku's voice and the gruffness sounds a lot more genuine. Unfortunately, Mako's voice was unique and really complex... so it'd be about impossible for anyone to nail more than just one small part of his entire vocal range.

Aku is the ultimate troll is Samurai Jack. He's the living embodiment of pure evil but also goofy. After the last time portal got destroyed, Jack is consumed with rage and killed innocent people who got turned to monsters by Aku. Hence the sword left Jack due to blind rage and deemed him no longer worthy.

I ain't gonna lie, I thought the final season started off good and then at some point went down hill. The pacing towards the end was BAD. Felt like the final season forgot it was only 10 episodes and had to push everything very fast in the final 2. I also have other thoughts, but I'm going to leave it at that I'm happy the show got a conclusion, I'm just not satisfied with how it all went down.

The bigwigs might be scared it would flop considering it's an old show and how another recent revival was also kind of flop (Hey Arnold's movie, though to be fair, they didn't think the time to air it thoroughly, at thanksgiving where most people would spent time with family than watching TV) and so gave them the last choice: 10 episodes or none at all.

There’s no official answer, but I’d presume that because of all the magic that Aku allowed onto Earth during his reign, some of that magic would materialise into various time portals. And that Aku had no real reason to destroy any of them till Jack first surfaced in the Future (that is Aku).
