With homo sapiens now thought to have existed almost 300k years ago, seems like there would've been fishing/trading settlements along lakeshores, rivers. ocean coastlines which were hundreds of feet lower during the last ice age.

From the research I read, there was certainly a population of hunter-gatherers in the region, but they didn't form permanent settlements until the last ten millennia BC. Thanks so much for watching!
