According to an interview Al did a year or so ago, he was totally blindsided by this. Imagine the humiliation of having these charges levied against you and then have your colleagues turn on you, despite all the work you've done on behalf of women. Al went into a deep depression once the initial shock wore off, and of course regretted his decision. He added that it doesn't help to have well-meaning people tell him he should not have resigned.

The 'poor girl' in the picture was a regular on Hannity's show on Fox, and her role on the USO tour was to be the sexy bombshell.
