Al sounds like the 1960’s but the reason this sounds so good is his son Matt singing backup vocals !! He’s freaking awesome !! Great voice Matt everything you have sang on is perfect !!

I think Al is one of my fave Beach Boys! He lacks ego and has a genuine presence not that I know him or anything, he just seems like a cool down to earth guy. I really hope I get to see him one day in concert- that would be amazing!! 😁

I am so happy to see the great Al Jardine still singing this with the same gusto and enthusiasm that he did 54 yrs ago. The man is a legend in my eyes along with the Wilson brothers and Mike. There music has brought me such joy throughout my 53 yrs of life. 🙂
@divyadijay27096 жыл бұрын
You lost me at "Mike". LOL, Seriously though Al is a legend and sounds so good for his age. Loved the Wilson brothers, especially Carl and Al. As for Mike Love, I can't stand the sight of that blowhard.
@steveskouson96206 жыл бұрын
Divya, don't pull your punches! If I saw Mike HATE stranded on the road, it would be VERY DIFFICULT for me to not hit the gas! Alan, you've done good! Matt IS the voice of The Beach Boys, in the next generation. And, I hope they DO last that long, Alan, I did NOT mean to diminish your skills. Mikey HATE doesn't hold a candle to your STELLAR voice! steve

paul adamson Not only in your eyes my friend. He is a living legend and as down to earth as can be. He just like your next door neighbor. And I mean that as in the “good next door neighbor” that you might have had.
@davidseals3526 жыл бұрын
Divya Dijay Probably everyone is or was a Mike Love hater at some point but Mike has mellowed and he’s grown like many of us have. He was also in a tough position, being the frontman for someone else’s band and without Mike I don’t think there would still be a Beach Boys touring group today. He helped write many of their songs and that’s finally coming out. And there was quite some time where Brian wasn’t involved with the band and never played with them again until the 50 Anniversary Tour where it immediately became Brian’s band once again. Mike has lived his whole life in Brian’s shadow. Now that I am no longer a ML hater I get to watch both acts perform. I will say this, a Brian Wilson concert is always better than a Beach Boys concert. The reason is that Brian continues to write new significant music whereas The Beach Boys don’t. Last year I went to a party and it was kept on the down low so I had no idea when I arrived that The Beach Boys were going to be the entertainment that evening. It was the best Beach Boys show I’ve ever seen being very casual without the normal screaming and chaos you get at their normal concert settings. They were in the middle of a song as I walked past the stage and at that moment there was no vocals and Mike points at me and say give your camera to someone and let’s take a picture. And now while he is singing once again he poses for a picture with me. It’s one of my favorite rock n roll pictures now because it was just spontaneous and it came out great. I forgave Mike for his indiscretions around ten years ago and I’m glad those feelings have long gone. After all we’re all just trying to get through this thing called life together and sometimes it’s not an easy road to travel. Love and mercy to you and your friends tonight.

To think that the Beach Boys Pet Sounds Inspired the Beatles to create one of the best albums of all time Sargent Peppers is something no other group can ever say. Al has become like fine wine and only getting better and more cherished with age. As a kid with my older sister watching the Ed Sullivan show are such fond memories that I always cherish..

Instead, I did good songs and nearly made it, but we're talking English Sonnets, Haiku's, etc., put to music - coffee house stuff (slightly intriguing but not happy, happy, happy). Musically, I bow to the Beach Boys.
