And do not forget to never trust a song of Hendrix, Joplin, The Velvet Underground, Serge gainsbourg, B. Marley, ok, ok, i stop there (i could continue for hours and hours)..... So, my dear friend be a nice and sober Citizen and vote Trump.. I don't say using drugs is a good thing, i just try to believe our world is not just black or white..... If you can get what i mean... So, to anybody curious, this was WAY BACK in 1993, before Johnny Depp was the mega superstar he is today. Johnny was in a band called P during this time, along with Gibby Haynes from the Butthole Surfers. What Al seems to be talking about is Halloween night, 1993, the night River Phoenix died. Seems Al was filling in one the Pedal Steel Guitar that night (he wasn't a regular member of the band), but was too drunk to play well. Had no idea River was there, or met him and didn't realize who he was. After the show, or during the short lived show, some of the band and some friends were trying to help with River, Al was neck deep in pussy. Johnny comes in to clear the backstage room, probably upset about River Phoenix, Al did some drunk rant and was carted off by one of Johnny's entourage. Sounds like a tall tale, but some facts check out.

The only part of Jourgensen's rambling that rings true was that River Phoenix d i d look like Herman Munster that evening and that most people f iudnt know it wax he who had o verdosed outside the Viper Room. Johnny Depp unfortunately did NOT KNOW it was River Phoenix who the paramedics were working on outside hhonius own club. on the pavement. Depp has consistently said I saw the paramedics working o n this young kid frantically. Quote, "I knew it wasnt good at that time. I had no idea it was River Phoenix. " J Depp only found out it was River Phoenix from a call after he was prounounced dead officially at the hospital. River Phoenix actually did die outside Depp's Viper Club. Johnny Depp immediately c l eared our the Viper Room as soon as he heard it was River Phoenix who had died. Depp knew that a death via drug overdose (especially with heroin in the deceased actors bloodstream) would ensure that the cops would arrive as soon as heard. The Police did but Depp outfoxed them. ! The story goes both Jourgensen and Gibby Haines were carrying on like Class -A a##holes ! Al was p#ssed off that the hot nubile things had no idea of whom either he, OR, Gibby Haines were. Even though the world wide Alternative/Indie scene adored them these Hollywood babes ignored them. Depp wanted h i s club cleared off drugs ASAP. Depp was super smart back then. The cops allegedly arrived by 3 30 pm. The story goes that the cops were stunned, if not outright p'd off ! There was no one around. River Phoenix was dead and the club closed not even 2 hours later. !!!

I thought Al was at his Absolute Coolest when I didn't even know what he really looked like. He was just this Dark and Foreboding "Presence" on stage. His face obscured by that Old Style 1930 or '40s era Microphone which, the then Ministry Roadie- Trent Reznor used as the Centerpiece of The Pretty Hate Machine- Album-Cover, his Breakthrough Album, & his first, I think. When Al took the Stage the crowd would go crazy & Al seemed to not even notice. The Band it'self resembled a bunch of Pirates, or extras from the First Road Warrior Movie. Al didn't so much as interact with the Crowd, but incited them. There would be no preamble, or greeting- maybe a middle finger extended to whoever showed- up, knowing full well, (the informed at least), that showing up to see Ministry Live was inviting physical harm upon ones' self. Those were the days: late '80s - early '90s. There is hardly any footage of Al back then. He made himself unavailable to the Media, & I believe he did this because he hated most Media types & his image was very Anti-Conformist. Unfortunately, Al changed his image into what we have today, in: Al "FUCKING" Jourgensen! And what a shame. It's all about Al now, & Ministry is just the vehicle. I blame this transgression on wet-brain and the massive amount of organic brain damage Al inflicted upon himself over the decades. However, I disagree with those who say drugs ruined Ministry. That would be like saying the Romans destroyed Jesus. Yes, it is technically true, but in both metaphors, one does not exist without the other. Jesus and Al are both more of a phenomenon than just two personalities.

@wristclutchatomicdrop3 күн бұрын
this is close but not completely accurate - he threw a used needle away and it landed in his boot beside the bed, then he put the boot on without realizing the needle was in there and it stuck in his toe, and that's what caused the infection
@AccuracySpeaks3 жыл бұрын
Uncle AL is quite intelligent, a hell of a storyteller, a hell of a musician and artist altogether, I never really could get into the industrial Ministry back in the day, however, seeing them live on the Slayer final tour gave me an amazing amount of respect for what it is that he does, the dude is a hell of an artist! Can't quite dig all of his political ideas, but that is a-ok, as we're all supposed to be different, not everyone wants vanilla! Back in the day he was a right nice-looking fellow, hard-living and modifications have eroded just a bit of those good looks, but who cares, as age kicks all of our butts anyway, so if you want to stud your face and tatt it up, go for it...you do you!!
