Remember: If there was no MINISTRY, there would be no NINE INCH NAILS. Just an interesting fact.

not really. for one thing die krupps, gary numan, and nitzer ebb would have still existed, for another nomatter how much you want to believe in causality the science is showing us the outcomes are always the same, only the route to the destination changes. the outcome will always be the same. theres also nothing interesting about this non fact.

It’s fun to look at the past and assume that the future would never happen without X Y or Z, but I forget who said it, but many things happen with or without coincidences - Trent seemed like a very dark artist who wAs going to soak up something eventually, and he was just a force inevitably destined to blow up with dark electronic energy

Al Jourgensen has been my hero and favorite musician since freshman year of high school in 1997. I guess I was a little late and young to the party but the mind is a terrible thing to taste changed my life. Soon as I bought the cassette and put it into my Walkman it was over. Thieves thundered and scared me with a shock like a jump scare in a horror movie. It literally frightenedme with its loudness but it was all over after that.

@qtimbroad2350
@qtimbroad2350 9 жыл бұрын
hmmm not really a coincidence by definition. They are both EPIC bands of the same era, playing the same gigs with the same people. If you want put on a festival that brings all those fantastic nineties bands out, as AJ Maddah has shown he does, then you book both these acts and you're onto a fucking winner! I myself, have just seen fear Factory Factory twice and Ministry four times in one week this Soundwave, and it was unfuckingforgettable, and I will always love AJ for reinventing the Australian Festival scene. Just got back, actually, an hour ago from the Sydney Soundwave, still haven't slept, and still playing it loud. Metal for life!

Not true at all. A lot of artists's inspiration dries up when they get to middle age - I'd argue the vast majority. Lots of musicians become technically better skilled with age, but most of them loose the inspiration. It's why the Stones have never stopped putting on great shows despite not having released a great album in 4 decades.

that's a pretty good question to ask if you don't know anything at all about industrial metal, and didn't pay attention at all when his name was captioned, he said what band he was from....and Al introduced him onstage to play supernaut with Ministry. Now...if YOU were in the video...that would be a wtf moment. Dino should probably be in the video, and yes he takes up a good portion of the frame. I assume he's aware, and everyone watching is aware that he is overweight. (O)___(o)

Trent has always been very eclectic in both his music and in his taste in others. His music hasn't changed, he just did something different from his usual repertoire. Compare "The Great Below" from The Fragile and "Hurt" from Downward Spiral, classic Nine Inch Nails, to TGWTDT OST, and compare "Big Man With a Big Gun" from Downward Spiral" and "Burn" from Natural Born Killers OST to the Immigrant Song cover from TGWTDT. Not much has changed, really.

+SinnedNogara well ministry at the time were pretty big thanks to psalms 69 and the single of jesus built my hot rod was in heavy rotation on mtv and the radio. plus having their N.W.O. video cameo on the beavis and butthead show helped their exposure and they played in the 2nd lollapalooza. so it doesn't surprise me that they headlined a tour with slayer being a supporting band on the bill.

Yeah, they were really big in the early 90's. Plus, that was arguably Slayer's lowest point in their career. They did not release an album for a few years, and when they finally did, 'Divine Intervention' wasn't very well-received. I think it's a great record, but a lot of critics felt it was redundant and uninspired. Which is funny, because their more recent output makes DI sound like Reign in Blood Pt 2.

I'm waiting for that quote if there is one. I wouldn't be surprised. I always sensed a teeny bit of resentment from Al when it came to Trent. Not sure why, but it's likely because of the similarity in music styles and how Trent went on to bank the big bucks, as Al became less and less relevant. It's cool that they get on for the most part though. They're both super talented in their own way.

I just saw Ministry's 2015 New Year's Eve in Chicago, and they had two large Nazi eagle banners hung at either end of the stage, with the Ministry insignia in place of the swastika. What kind of asshole must Al Jourgensen be to do something like that? What kind of statement is he trying to make? And why would the management at the Concord Music Hall be stupid engough to let him get away with it? Derek Davis Chicago

"Nazi eagle banners" I wasn't aware eagles could prescribe to ultra nationalistic ideologies No for real though what made it a "Nazi" thing. The *tilted swastika is the only thing I would say is implicitly offensive. The stuff like Iron crosses and other symbols the Nazi party used I think had been around for many years I believe, and generally represented stuff like "Strength" as far as I'm aware. Honestly I have to say I'm surprised someone who would go see ministry is offended by their stage antics, i feel like thats par for the genre.
