I am always amazed by Al's performance in Godfather 1 - sure he was a young man - but he played that part as if he had been acting for 50 years - as if decades of acting and training and life's experience had prepped him for the role - and yet - it was very early in his career - and especially early in his film career which is very different then stage acting - yet it appeared he really had a handle on how to act to the camera - he has innate abilities that go beyond training

I just watched The Godfather last night for the first time. I was 7 when it came out. I agree. Al did such an incredible job with that role. I was truly amazed how such a young fresh faced guy could pull off such a role as though he was a seasoned actor
@occasm13 күн бұрын
he was even more impressive in II. Should def have gotten the oscar for that. Love Art Carney but really no comparison. Nicholson was up for Chinatown but Pacino was hands down the best that year. What a year too!

@chrisduran3007 Жыл бұрын
@@Leeohlin89 pretty sure he’s not actually Michael Corleone or dating Adam Sandler’s “sister” but my meaning was he seems to be quite a shy and private person and there’s a point in this where you see his eyes light up and you just feel ‘this is Al’. I’m coming from a position of being a lifelong Pacino fanatic

It took me 50 years to finally watch The Godfather lol. Quality movie all around. Pacino was such fresh faced young buck during that movie but my god what a good actor. I'm so dissatisfied with box office movies of today with all their CGI and action packed scenes. There's nothing like back in the days when movies couldn't depend on CGI to make a good movie.

What a talent. Wow, and he’s still gorgeous. Donna Brasco was great for me because I ♥️ Depp and Pacino. It was just announced that they’re doing another film together after Depp won his case against Scamber Turd. Depp’s directing and Pacino is producing. I can’t wait for this!

I bet he's way nicer than deniro
@Jimdunne_3 жыл бұрын
He seems more friendly alright haahahah
@kevinw7123 жыл бұрын
well it kinda depends on the context of just how you mean that. I promise that most anyone who knows Deniro even a little bit will tell you he's lovely (I've heard plenty do it). Looking at it just from more sort of this video's perspective, he's an actor that for a long time was quite uncomfortable and ambivalent about both a straight promotional side of the business, or having a public talk like this about acting and his work. It's really only been within the last 10 years or so he's been able to open up to it more and have any fun with it. That doesn't mean he was rude or an asshole, and I could understand someone being conflicted about all that. Pacino was actually a great deal like that as well for a long time, though not quite as much. They're both fairly private people. Just a different personality type, less of a natural 'entertainer' in him than someone like say Tom Hanks. And it's not like I've ever heard a story of someone in a public situation deciding to approach Deniro (& if they weren't pushy or whatever about it) and him being a dick for absolutely no reason.
@willzinc61372 жыл бұрын
People who have met Deniro in person say he is genuinely a great guy, but he's shy and reserved in interviews, especially in comparison to Pacino who is so good at this type of conversation. Either way, two of the best to ever do it.

do you know what is best. that is not importent. it is what you think about what is importent. i know i am confusing, who are not.
There are some films like "Heat" where he is screaming to a point of overacting. Screaming in "And Justice For All" You're out of order! You're out of order! Appropriate. At times I cringe when it seems he's overacting. He annoyed me in Scarface, I suppose. He did a Ric Burns documentary on Eugene O'Neal, and he convinced me he was a brilliant actor after all.
