As much as I love Robin's talk show "interviews" where he goes on and does his unstoppable schtick before a live audience, there's something so special and beautiful about these quiet, honest, vulnerable, gentle interviews. It's so amazing to hear him speak in his natural voice for so long at a stretch-his natural voice is really beautiful-and he's enganged, alive, and dare I say it, happy. It surprises me just how little footage there is of him being himself and being genuinely happy at the same time. I'm so grateful for Charlie's light touch with an interview, and for anyone, really, who makes someone like this happy for a while, when he did the same for us so many times.

ROBIN, still is a breath of fresh air, a stimulation for the Heart.... a moment of sadness. I met him once in Chinatown in NYC early in the morning. I went in to eat Congee soup before school, he was sitting in the 'eating area' behind the green leafy vegetables. I approached and said..."Oh my God its Mick Jagger.... (I grabbed a napkin and said) " Oh Mick can I have your autograph... I love your music and I looked around and said " its incredible...Mick Jagger eating Congee soup" He noddeed his head for me to sit down and we ate and chatted. I still love to hear his voice!

I have been low and I mean low and have attempted to take my own life. My Brother recently did. But once you have experienced low and I mean really low, you can see it in others eyes. I could see it in his eyes, but I saw a very lonely man, of which comedians will tell you it is a lonely profession. But people who are sufferers are very good at showing nothing, building walls and no one can get in. The only way in, even by a professional is if that person lets you.

When I would listen to him, I would hear Jonathan Winters. The cadence, the delivery; it's incredible. There is, maybe, one of these minds every 50 years or so. To think that we've had 2 within 30 years means that a future generation will be cheated out of the incredible amount of just pure fun that we've had.
