My old choir teacher had a knack for picking some of the most beautiful songs for our concerts. He chose this, die nachtigall, and morning( the Emily dickisinson poem) nearly everyone was crying because of how beautiful it was

@wborskey Look, they didn't write this. My school is doing the same thing and it's just how this particular version has been written. In all honesty I think it has been changed simply to sound better, regardless of what those changes actually mean to the lyrics themselves...

Actually, there are two ways of singing and two translations. You have the wrong translation. The one they`re singing is "The world is sustained by three things, by truth, by justice, and by peace." And I'm holding the music and reading the translation on the back as I type so I think I'm right.

Actually this is incorrect. These words come from a different part of Pirkei Avot than the ones you are referencing. The pronunciation, frankly, is pretty good.

@wborskey Unfortunately this is CHOIR! The pronunciations are perfect for a CHOIR! Correct pronunciation of the words would result in an awful sound. But i guess you sing it your way because clearly its got you very far ;)
