I remember hearing the lyrics "in Atlanta Georgia, there's Peace on Earth tonight" as I sat in uniform at a crowded Atlanta bus terminal on Christmas Eve in 1986, after catching a hop (free flight) on a KC-135 from Minot AFB, ND where I was stationed, to Warner Robins AFB, GA. I was making my way to Charleston (SC) & the Greyhound finally pulled up at 5AM & I was HOME for Christmas! This song, ringing in my Head, kept me going on the Journey!

This song always brings tears.. My son and I were driving and this song came on the radio. Had never heard it before. I was driving, he reached over to turn the radio up and said, "I really like this song." He was taken from us in an accident in 1991 at the age of 20. I always play this song over and over this time of the year..

So hard to even imagine. We are having an age progression picture done just to see what he might look like today. We are still not sure we are going to be able to look at it, but we wanted it. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as we get to the holidays.. Holidays are always so hard. My Kevin loved Christmas, and always wanted us to have our tree up the day after Thanksgiving....

I remember as a child my mom would put the Alabama Christmas Album on while we decorated the Christmas Tree. Christmas in Dixie would be the song she would step back and admire all our hard work. Hugging each of us. My mom passed away in 1990. This song still brings tears to my eyes with memories. I will always think of my mom’s loving hugs when I hear this song. THANK YOU Alabama!!

On December 23, 1981 I heard this song for the first time. Traveling from New York City to Glenwood, GA in an 18 wheeler, My husband and I was trying to make it home by Christmas Eve morning. I thought it was the most beautiful Christmas Song I had ever heard. I cried at the lyrics and reminisced with the beautiful melody. Yes Christmas in Dixie was just what my soul need then and now. My mom loved it too. It was her absolute favorite Christmas song. I can remember the year it came out being in Walmart and listening to everyone hum or sing it along as the store played it. It seemed to me that everyone loved it then. It's truly a beautiful Christmas song. God bless you! I lost my mother in 2004, then my dad 10 months later in 2005. I'm from Indonesia, yes thousands of miles from Alabama or any city in America, its kinda weird but my dad raise me and my brothers with a lot of country music, this song reminds me so much to my childhood, makes me wondering about having snowy day on Christmas or doing a long trip on American highway to get home for Christmas, I love this song so much and I always start playing it when december comes..

Sure, we had had many difficult times...the assassination of our president, Vietnam, Watergate, race riots, protests, drugs, and a fading moral compass. Mark used to ride 4-wheelers with my wife and children all around Sand Mountain. Ft Payne is in a valley between Sand Mtn and Lookout Mtn. Special times. This was one of many great hits of the band.
