Alabama Shakes was my first concert, May 1, 2016. Best fuckin' experience as I was standing in the very front row of the SunFest Ford Stage at West Palm Beach. I'm only 32 years old but it's a big deal for me seeing a woman, especially a Black girl rock. It's a positive representation of what we ladies can do and that realness still exists. Thanks, Britt! This band brought music back. These guys are doing something invaluable, and im not sure they know it. They have given rock a new life inside a new host (this generation). Radio waves are so saturated with such basic music, and it has infested all of us; we forgot that music is not only suppose to make us feel good, but also enrich our life and intelect with its lyrics and complex sounds. This band brought all those things back to us and I am f&*ing grateful for that!
@1WEareBUFO1
@1WEareBUFO1 9 жыл бұрын
Sure enough!! Popular music is even beyond basic lately it's garbage written according to one of nine or ten blueprints. Hopefully more real bands will become relevant on a larger scale.... even computers can produce beautiful, unique sounds infinitely, so why does all this electronic, sampled noise sound nearly the same? Don't even get me started on she who will NOT be named and her fistful of basic chord progressions.

+Saitama Sensei I know every generation says the same thing, but today's music is absolute rubbish to the nth degree. Have you actually listened to some of the lyrics? Here is a sample of the lyrics from songs in the top 10 on Billboard: "Dry! ...me a desert him, Nuh time to have you lurking, Him ah go act like him nuh like it, You know I dealt with you the nicest, Nuh body touch me you nuh righteous, Nuh badda, text me in a crisis" "Welcome to my duck off the crib, the spot, the pad, But my house is your house if you throwin' it back, Excuse me if my home bringing the sad, Soon as these happy faces land you can run with the cash" "Oh, I'll be your daydream, I'll wear your favorite things, We could be beautiful, Get drunk on the good life, I'll take you to paradise, Say you'll never let me go" There have been some real gems, especially in the top 40/RnB/Hip-hop genres.

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this. It's as close to perfect as any musical performance I've ever seen.

Best female vocalist out there 👌👌👌 it's such a breath of fresh air to hear a female vocalist with soul sing like this and not whine into a microphone. Please keep releasing this wonderful music🤙🤙

Taking all of this in visually and aurally is one of the most smile-inducing things I've experienced in quite a while. The soundscape and composition, the mix of sound and the blend of voices, reminds (reminds - not copies or attempts to mimic) of TV on the Radio's 9 Types of Light / Dear Science / Return to Cookie Mountain period.

Wow. Musicians of the modern era that actually have enough self-control to play at volume levels where you can successfully record them all in one room! That in itself is astounding. And then it's good music as well.

She is so freaking raw, the rage and irony just seeps out of her. Fantastic backing by the band. Before you go kick the dog, listen to this. It's a good vent.

Some want to see Those who've gone above Friends that they've lost People they've loved I'd rather meet the me On down the road To lead me through the fog Wouldn't ask for more Children, take or leave it Come people you got to Give a little, get a little And see it Like future you people Some things could be Seen from above Thread of design Don't trip me up Children, take or leave it Come people you got to Give a little, get a little And see it Like future you people Listen to teacher Imagine the sound And listen loud and then You'll reach the top
