I will always remember the 5 Scottish players that Liverpool had in their first team squad at the same time. 1) Kenny Dalglish 2) Graeme Souness 3) Alan Hansen 4) Steve Nicol 5) Gary Gillespie What's more is at least 4 out of the 5 are Rangers supporters. Dalglish was always a Rangers fan as a boy but the Rangers scout didn't really rate him and he ended up joining Celtic. Souness grew up in Edinburgh but was always a Rangers fan. Hansen as we have heard also grew up supporting the Blue side of the Old Firm. Steve Nicol, has resided in the United States for a long time now but has never really hidden his love for Rangers. Gillespie, I must admit I don't really know who he supported as a child but I do know that after Liverpool he did have a wee spell at Celtic.

I'm 69 years old born from a liaison between what I'm told was a Jamaican father and an English mother. I am Coloured and Half Caste as that's what I grew up acknowledging myself as. As I'm the same age as Alan Hansen I'd expect him to use the same language as I would. If you had referred to me as Black it was usually followed by Bastard and the term Mixed Race was invented in the 80s. I grew up in sport and knew many a coach who would describe a boxer or footballer as "that good coloured" lad and no offence was meant or taken. I always wondered why Alan Hansen disappeared off our screens but the headline to this post "Now he Finally Confirms the Rumours" has left me none the wiser.
