Maradona is the first pick for any team of all time. Maldini is the left back and Alfredo Di Stefano is another automatic choice. You can play him as a striker, winger or in midfield. Cruyff and Puskas should also be in the mix, close to a starting 11.

As a 66 year old Englishman who watched the 1966 World Cup as an 8 year old, and idolised Charlton, I have to disagree. He was indeed a wonderful player, but I still can't find a place for him in an all-time World XI. All-time England team, certainly, 1st name on the sheet.

People overlooking Maldini is also a big surprise as well. The vast array of midfield selections is also a great debate, but, for me, to not have Charlton is just ludicrous. As for a keeper, no mention of Banks, Schmeichel, Van Der Sar, Pat Jennings,.. the list goes on. Each and every fan will have his own favourites. To me, what is more important is the enjoyment of the game. Having watched soccer for 50 years, I have found it more enjoyable in the 1970s when we didn't have as much of the antics, simulations, foul play and controversies over hand balls and offsides. Maradona's infamous "Hand of God" goal, in my opinion, was the start of cheating.

Cheating has been around since the game first started, we're more aware of it now through slow motion replays, VAR etc, and it gets highlighted in the media nowadays, unlike 50 years ago. It's wrong to suggest that Maradona started it all, but it did set a very bad precedent, being clearly seen all over the world, and inspiring copycats everywhere.

I saw that those who formed this team did not understand football, and would be destroyed if attacked. there are no balancing midfielders or defensive midfielders. Look, every great team have a CM or DM to stop the opponent's attacks from the middle like Pirlo/Gattuso (Italy), Dunga (Brazil), Deschamps/Petit/Makelele (France), Sergio Busquets/Xabi Alonso (Spain). The midfielders chosen is Zidane, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. they all have an attacking character, if they are attacked, the midfield will be empty. Remember Real Madrid in the 2000s. They were a great team at that time consisting of R Carlos, Hierro, Figo, Zidane, Raul, Ronaldo, Beckham and who was CM/DM...Redondo, Makelele/Cambiasso. Don't forget the services of this balancing midfielder. Sorry, I'm just annoyed when many KZbin channels choose the 11 best players, always not including CM/DM. Almost all of the midfield players are filled with players with an all-attacking character.

I am thinking that this is guy is not so much of an idiot. He left out Maradona so that people will come and comment. That is an intelligent strategy (one that works) although a pretty pathetic one. This guy has no shame. I have not watched many club games but I watched World Cup games since 1974. In the World Cup games, Messi's performance pales in comparison to what Maradona did. Maradona perhaps played only in 2 full World Cups and managed to do what he did. Lot of people (outside Argentina and Naples) dislike Maradona because of his personal problems. But he was miles ahead of his fellow players which included the likes of Platini and Zico.
