Alan Wake 2 takes place 13 years after the events of the first game. You play as both Alan Wake and Saga Anderson, a new character to the series. Battle through the Dark Place and the woods of Bright Falls to restore everything to its right place. Is Alan the Champion of Light? Or the Herald of Darkness? You'll have to play for yourself to find out!

This was an awe moment in gaming history, just like Arthur's last ride in RDR2. The layers to how deep this segment goes is astounding. As far as my interpretation, the dark presence further corrupting Alan's psyche, takes his life story, fears and hopes and reproduces it through an amazing musical sequence for him and us. As amazing as this part is, it's still the dark presence and that's incredibly twisted and somehow incredibly fun at the same time. It's not only scaring Alan but also us the gamers, as we're seeing "real life" images within a video game, as if the dark presence is peaking over the screen at us. Alan's gonna have to seriously rise up in his craft and upgrade his writing skills to Shakespearian levels in the next game if he's to come out of the never ending night. Absolute masterpiece and my personal GOTY.
