While in the dreams, he would meet a man who bore a striking resemblance to Alan Wake. Steward became obsessed with the man in his dreams and eventually he left his wife and son to find the man. He studied Alan, and then traveled to Bright Falls a year after the events of the game. There, he conducted an investigation surrounding Alan Wake, Bird Leg Cabin and FBI Agent Nightingale's investigation. This became The Alan Wake Files. 08:40 The mysterious figure we encounter here for the first time is voiced by James McCaffrey, the voice actor of Max Payne and the Director Zachariah Trench in Control. 15:44 The game takes a lot of inspiration from Davin Lynch's TV Show "Twin Peaks". The setting of Twin Peaks is very similar to Bright Falls: A small and seemingly harmless logging town in Washington. The initial plan for Alan Wake was for an open-world game where Alan explored Bright Falls in the vein of a Grand Theft Auto game. However early in the development Remedy realized that with the resources they had they simply couldn't achieve it. Personally I'm glad it turned out that way, as a more linear structure keeps the focus on the story and allows developers to meticulously build the spooky atmosphere, which are the strong points of the game. 1:12:38 The Night Springs TV show is an obvious homage to "The Twilight Zone" with very similar opening music, logo design and a dead-on Rod Serling impersonator. In-game TV shows like this are somewhat of a trademark for Remedy. Both Max Payne games also featured TV's that could be turned on to watch TV shows.

Night Springs TV show appears to also be based on the early 1970's Rod Serling TV show "Night Gallery". Night Gallery was hosted by Rod Serling and featured three 20 minute short stories. FUN FACT: one of the first short story episodes to air on Night Gallery was directed by a 21 year old recent USC film school graduate named Stephen Spielberg!

Ah, now this is one of my personal favorite games, when I was younger. It really intrigued me, especially with all the unique combat stuff to deal with the Dark Presence's minions. Cities might be fun to explore, but I think small towns might be more fun for adventures and exploration, at least in my opinion.

I don't think I like him, he comes off as rude, shovey, impersonal..maybe thats just how authors are? I dunno, but its interesting it took me this long to realize that fact :D

Yeah, that's a very good point. Remedy actually talked about it in some interviews, that unlike a lot of other video games, they wanted to create what feels like a real guy with flaws and not a perfect hero. So yeah, Alan being kind of a dick was intentional :)
