@@JuanThaSilva The problem with philosophy and religion is that they talk about giving up thinking and concepts while all they do is keep thinking and preaching about concepts. Everything he just said is just a belief from his limited perception. He isn't any more correct than physics, science, or anyone else. Symbols are existential. There is no separation between physical reality and symbolic meaning, such as mathematics.
@Softlol

@@ADUAquascapingAlan Watts didn’t have beliefs. He knew. Just as I know that we are all the same. We are God, the universe, we are everything. This is what you understand if you let your ego die. Everyone letting go of their ego and existing just now have the exact same conclusion. It’s impossible to explain, you have to experience it, and you will know. But be warned, there is no turning back when you see behind the veil of reality. You will be changed forever.
@Softlol

@@user-vq1ne6es5m its not in the way Alan is talking about. The future doesn’t exist, because you can’t predict it. You can spend a day make a 1 year plan, then the same day you slip in the shower and die. Or meteor hit the earth, or a war breaks out. The only thing that truly exists is the present moment.

You could try less “integration” and more of a perspective change. Integrate the rest of your life to this mind set because this mindset is the thing that keeps you content, so you wanna be like that as much as possible. Instead of looking at this like a standard of maturity or like a chore, look at it like a choice and an overall perspective that everything else works around

But no one man's opinions are enough to get me off this planet with any form of true peace and joy. This world is wretched. I don't think we can just meditate terrible suffering away from us, not in any lasting way. Basically, we better hope there's a God. Because this place has left me broken and wanting to mend.

@silentrotation6541

In our thinking we put everything into categories. Then we filter our view of ourselves and the world in these set ways that set our reality. Watching our breath and thoughts at times of the day can break this by allowing us to see that our awareness is more than thoughts, like the sky that does not hold onto clouds but lets them come up and pass into the emptiness of the sky. There is joy in watching thoughts evaporate like clouds when left alone instead of one getting trapped in their endless maze. There is joy in simply being aware of awareness.

Just be conscious "thoughts" are just "thoughts", it doesn't matter if it's something that can happen or not. You cannot be anywhere other than here and now, the past is not responsible for the present, it's the other way around, because first of all, you are here and now therefore you may think or not think about the past. Only when you think about it, both the past and future exist, otherwise they don't. Now is the foundation upon which thoughts of past and future come from. Anything other than here and now is psychological, when you close your eyes and think about the sun out there in space, the sun might actually exist out there but the sun that you think of is no more than a projection of your mind, which is just a thought, a psychological activity. When you close your eyes and think about someone, that someone in your psychological reality has nothing to do with the one that is actually out there that you can see and hear, the thought just projects them, represents them. Like your name represents you but it is not you, like money represents wealth but it's not the actual wealth that you can consume. The psychological reality/world is 2-dimensional, linear, dead, lifeless, repetitive and gloomy while the actually reality that you can see and hear is 3-dimensional, full of life, colorful, full of surprises and everchanging. So the point is "don't confuse the reality that you can perceive with the reality that you can think of", they're not the same.

I've done the opposite, the rebel that I am. I've allowed myself the opportunity to think as much as I want. It's been scary at times, and Pandora's box has proven to go far deeper than I ever imagined. It's taken 18 years of daily effort to reach the bottom of the boxes. What I've found is so rewarding, say life-changing, so beautifully resonant that the journey and sacrifice and fear that I was losing my marbles has all been with it. Go for it. Think as much as you can, and then think some more. You'll make it.

To me there are two types of thought. Compulsive thoughts and thoughts of the soul. Compulsive thoughts being a repetiton created by the mind. A memory. I dropped something. Fuck I think or even say. The minds reflex brought to existence because my mind has experienced this before and it triggers a memory in the mind. That is because the mind is flesh. But then there's thoughts of the soul. Unique thought. It's hard to explain the potential of this. But I believe it's important to learn the difference to avoid being weak minded in that your thoughts can be controlled by falling prey to memories that are tied to triggers.

Well i disagree with him ,,what he said in nutshell is that purpose of life is to enjoy the present . i would like to ask a question further ,, First of all there are 2 components enjoying is composed of = 1) satisfying your physical desires food .. etc.. 2) desire to be praised by other people or own ego... ,,, If you do a thought experiment ask urself a question ,, if you are given everything in life ... What will you do ..then ,, what when all the things are enjoyed ,,, now you have 2 options you could repeat the same infinitely like a machine with no emotions ,like a stone falling to decrease it's potential energy. ((WHICH YOU KNOW/FEEL THAT YOU ARE NOT )) being a feeling creature (whatever this feeling is ) you will ask yourself the same initial question = WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT... And you will surrender your ego and all the intelligence and come to know that YOU DON'T KNOw ANYTHING ..WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE /REALITY ? SO THE real PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO ,, FIND THE REALITY ,, WHICH I CALL GOD,, ((NOW ,,SOME PEOPLE MAY ASK WHY SHOULD WE BE MORAL ,, BECAUSE YOU FEEL GOOD AND BAD ,, AND FOLLOWING THE MORAL CODE ENABLES YOU TO DO GOOD , JUSTICE WHICH GIVES SOME KIND OF FEELING/PEACE , IT IS INEHERENT PART OF US ALTHOUGH WE DON'T KNOW ITS ORIGIN ,, mercy , love towards other people etc , WE KNOW /feel are good ,, and if you question why should we do good ,, the answer is that it is what you are made of ,that is what your innerself tells , you can't question it ... And conversely ,, if you question it ,, then question the question as well and you will end up in a loop ,,after you get exausted you will give up , so why did you give up , because it hurts ,,, now you accept getting uncomfortable is a thing ,, now you feel it.. and that's how we derive good and bad)) Now let's get back to the initial question ,that what even after we spend a moral life ,, what is life all about ,,, The answer is that whatever the reality is what created us ,, it will do justice and reveal itself after your death.. because you fell ( now , if you are still being a smartass asking what you feel may not be true ,, then go to a building and drop yourself ,, as it won't make a difference If You Believe= that purpose of life is nothing ,we arrived from nothing and after we die there will be nothing ) Which you indeed feel must not be true and it isn't ,, SO ACCEPTING THAT THERE IS AN ENTITY WHICH IS THE REALITY , KNOWS EVERYTHING AND ALL POWER =🍷 IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO THis EQUATION ... (( If you live nd eat like normal people ,, your life should be bound by moral principles ,, and still think about the CREATOR / REALITY ,, AND WHEN YOU HAVE REACHED THE LEVEL TO SACRIFICE ALL YOUR WORDLY DESIRES (WHICH YOU CAN'T BEING A HUMAN ) THEN YOU CAN LONG FOR THE REALITY ... NEVERTHELESS ,,, YOU WILL SEE IT AFTER DEATH.. ( YOU MAY BE DECADES OLD ,JUST BEFORE THAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU ARE /EXIST ) ,, THE THING THAT BROUGHT YOU HERE WILL MEET YOU AFTER DEATH... (( AND IT'S GOOD INDEED/as that's what we want it to be ,, we are made by it (god) means that's what it has made us think and so that's what it is )))

not to doubt your Grasp on Now but just in case - while we're eating, we focus the attention in our mouth/tongue; when we walk, we put the attention on our legs and feet. someone i deemed with heightened senses adviced me not to think while eating. a zen session held by a group taught to grasp as clearly as i could on the actual flavor of the foods separately.

I know that I am capable of doing well, I’m told that I am capable of doing well, and have even done well so far, yet I still has constant mental wars and rly bad anxiety everyday over doing pretty much anything. The anxiety gets to the point sometimes where it prevents me from doing things that I know full well I’m capable of doing.
@NateJustAlone

I go through the same problem unfortunately but truthfully there are a lot of things that I know is wrong with me that I know I’m supposed to sacrifice or give up for my mental freedom. It’ll be hard to give up these “things” I have to “give up” because I do it everyday and use it everyday that it has become a bad habit. If you don’t know what your conflicts are look into yourself deeply and no it’s not just anxiety. Anxiety is a correlation with the root of another more deep battle within you. Find that. And give it up.

@@NateJustAlone I see what you’re saying though I really don’t know what it is tbh. You guys need daoism in your life, watch some videos on those ideals. Just remember there’s an art to not trying. Also watch fight club and then check out some break downs on it. These two things have helped me a lot. Just learn to let go. However this could take a lifetime to do.
@NateJustAlone

@@cameront7804 I absolutely couldn’t agree more with what you just said. Since I don’t have any answers unfortunately I do find comfort in knowing that I am not alone in this but I have a feeling that this may just be a path of enlightenment for anyone who struggles like we do or “an opportunity” at enlightenment rather than a struggle in our lives. If there is one thing I’ve learned truly in the life I’ve lived is that everything has an origin a history a reasoning and that we can find it. But once again I believe this is our chance at our own enlightenment and mental/spiritual awakening whether your religious or not. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the little things and sit back and watch things settle.

Nice video. One suggestion for those who overthink be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself with others, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15-20 minutes or more. You can sit or lie down, anywhere-anytime with eyes closed. No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. With practice the mind will relax. Keep a reminder to observe your breath sensations throughout the day and night --before sleep, when reading, at work, at home, when travelling etc with eyes open or closed. Like me make this a lifetime habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

I totally lost my momentum of thought and found it difficult to get it back (I’m still not there yet) life is much harder without the simplicity of simple thought.
