Benjo tu sebenarnya egg banjo. Sekarang orang sebut benjo Jr. Roti telur yakni egg bun. Kita orang Johor jual hot dog di pulau Pinang tahun 1974. First hot dog stall in Penang. Kita burger hot dog dan egg bun . Kita tambah Jo kat egg bun jadi egg banjo. Jo di tambah pada egg bun sebab kita orang Johor yang berniaga hot dog di pulau Pinang. Jadi kita panggil egg banjo bukan benjo. Masa Kami berniaga belum ujud Ramli burger. Kami jual papa burger. Mama burger dan baby burger. Kami jual hot dog egg n cheese. Cheese bun. Sayur kami salad. Timun. Bawang merah besar dan tomato. Tiada kobis mcm sekarang. Kami guna mastad. Minyak sayur seperti SPRY. Magrin. Kami berniaga di padang kota. Di Penang road . Esplanade ( Padang kota baru) Di pulau tikus. Di depan2 panggung. Semuanya Kami dari Johor. Roti2 Kami tempah di sunshine bakery. Egg banjo ya bukan benjo 😂😂😂

I do remember back in 1990.. benjo is the only affordable burger for us.. that time just around 70-80 cents. while ramly burger plain around rm1.20.. special rm1.80. but even just benjo still hit the spot... perfectly. How time flies.

Most of Ramly burger stalls used to open as early as 6pm to as late as 2 or 3am.. there are some that open 24 hours a day too. But after covid hits the country, its hard to find any shop (that is not burger stalls) that open until late at night, most closed at sharp 10pm, which makes the area around burger stalls become eerily quiet. This raise the issue of security, making ramly burger stalls prone to being robbed when human traffic is low in the area. But there's still some that brave enough to open their burger stall if it's close or in front of 24hr shop (7-Eleven, Family Mart, etc). If you found a burger shop in front of 7-Eleven or in front of Cyber Cafe, there's a good chance that they're open 24 hours a day.

Alana, my family and I, we hated the over loading sauces. When never ordered ours with the sauces. We hated all the 'banjir!", we hated the sogginesss, especially whenever we do the take outs...zitzzz, no sauces, not even mayonaise or the dripping cheese.
