Ever since I tried to use the firm smoothing brush with my head upside down I've started loving it. Hair really becomes sleek, smooth and with great volume at the roots. then I just finish the ends of the hair (with head straight now 😅) with the barrels or the round brush or quickly with the firm brush if I just want the sleek look. Always finish with cold shot with every attachmente that I use, including the dryer. It helps a lot too, less frizz, more smoothness. Thanks for your videos, they have been great. ❤

Upside down is grt hack. Also try, part ur hair centre or so, then use firm brush on rt hair but flipping toward left in sections. Grt vol!!

I just got the dyson airwrap complete-long for my bday from my amazing hubby, and your videos have been so helpful!! You explain everything so clearly! My hair type is much different than yours, it’s thick, but fine and basically straight (medium length), but I still find your videos so helpful.

I love that i came across your videos, i had the same problem with other tutorials, where their hair is sleek and straight to begin with and i needed someone with texture
@dawenmair Жыл бұрын
Just tried my Airwrap for the first time on my extremely thick, wavy/curly, medium coarse hair. It didn't go well and 15 minutes in I was sweaty and cursing myself for purchasing this expensive but seemingly useless (for me) tool. Came out of the bathroom, watched your video and went back to try to fix some of the problem spots (back of head, which has a fiercely curly spot at the nape that refuses to be tamed), and some of the front, particularly at the top. My complaints were still frizzy in spots, especially on the back ends, and flat to my head without body at the top. I did exactly what you warned against: brushed it from the top down like I was brushing my hair. Using your underneath technique after lightly wetting just the top layers fixed the problem. I highly recommend everyone try Alana's tips because I was seriously ready to box this thing up and ship it back. Now it looks more like I would expect. I honestly got better results initially with the Revlon One Step Volumizer brush, but it runs SO hot and burns my hands and I can only imagine what it could do to my hair long term. Now I have hope that the Dyson will work for me after all and it won't damage my hair. Thank you so much!!!!

I think we literally have the same hair type and have gone through the same struggles. I'm glad you put up your videos for the smoothing brushes because I get asked so many times how to properly use them. Creating tension is the only thing that works every single time. :)

It’s always great to find people with a similar hair type as the technique is always so different! You’re so right, tension really is the key! Thank you for watching lovely ☺️💕

Thank you I did not know the difference between the two brushes. I have frizzy hair so this tip is really helpful. Two weeks between washes????i can only do 5 days and it does not look greasy but I feel it dirty so I have to wash it and it’s the best feeling to have clean hair. One week would be ideal.
@alananoelle2 жыл бұрын
So glad you found this useful ❤️ yes 2 weeks 😆One week is what I usually do & I might not wait 2 weeks everytime but I’m just experimenting and all round I find it’s just better for my hair when I try and leave it longer 💕

Omg I can't wait to learn more about hair cleaning, I have the absolute worst, fine, greasy, frizzy hair and I tried washing it less often but it is just greasy in less than 24h. So it's either washing it, using dry-shampoo (not a big fan) or just putting it up in a bun and looking dirty. 😅 That's also why I never take the time or make the effort to style it, since it will only be worth it for a couple of hours... Any tips already, please let me know and I'll look out for you other videos too!

Hi Alana, thank you so much for doing these videos - they are really helping me with my airwrap! Can you please let me know if we should be using the dryer part until 80% dry before switching to the brush or can/should we dry right from the start with the brush? X

Hi Melissa, you’re so welcome, I’m so glad you find them useful 💕 definitely dry your hair about 80% dry with the blow dry attachment first, then use the smoothing brushes ☺️ as I mentioned in the video I have a full tutorial on how I style my hair with them - link in description of this video ❤️

Do you have a video showing how you style your hair between washes? My hair looks great the first and second day but it goes flat and straighter after that. I think my hair is like yours, thick, curly and frizzy.

Tried the Dyson twice. It took quite some time, and I found the handle and buttons not very ergonomic. The result is rather modest to disappointing. Will have another try with these tips. But I will likely give it away.
