The director confirmed that this movie had a happy ending. The little ornament left behind stirred their memory of what happened and it served as a reminder to be good or Krampus will be back for them. He is keeping a watchful eye over them at all times (and other families).

So we do celebrate St.Nicholas day over here, and Krampus (or here it's pretty much a devil/demon) is a thing. People dress up as Nicholas, Krampus and an angel and go around the neighbourhood and "perform" for kids, listening to if they've been nice or naughty and giving candy or coal. It's somewhat going away, but still a thing today. When I was a kid, we had my dad's colleague over and his group had pretty great costumes. I was still fully convinced this was a real thing. And for some reason I was deemed "naughty" that year. So the Krampus actually grabbed me, stuck me in a potato sack (scared shitless, of course) and carried me into the cellar, telling me how the other devils are going to cook me for dinner. I lived, of course, but I'm just now realizing it might've mildly traumatized me. Also this is the second child trauma story I've commented with under your videos, sorry about that! :D Cool movie tho.

@@tomriordan4121 I think it was over the line, yes. It could be a great experience for kids if they understand it's play. They need to learn something about being good and behaving well, yes, but it's safe. I didn't feel safe and none of the adults realized this, or they thought it was acceptable. Scaring kids into behaving and all that. I wanna say the fact this was probably 30-ish years ago is mainly the reason, but I don't know how these things go nowadays either.

I *love* the monster designs, especially Krampus'. He looks like he's wearing a human mask, looking a fake Santa. That entire toy segment is definitely inspired by Gremlins, which is a plus for me (highly recommend that if you haven't watched that, already!) Whole movie itself is kind of an homage to 80s holiday horror flicks. Good times!

I don't know if you've heard of this yet, but in the Director's Cut of this film, he (the director) explains that the families in the snow globes are NOT trapped in the moment. They're just being observed, as per the old adage "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness' sake!" Those in the globes were given second chances and warnings via the baubles and the memories they shared to remind them to keep the spirit of the holidays alive, but if they slip up, they are, quite literally, damned. As far as my understanding goes, though, Omi's family was an exception. They were taken bodily to Hell the first time, and she was left as an exception, as she wished for them to disappear.

Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Krampus is a great movie. As many have mentioned, it is an actual part of Santa Lore we just removed him here in America because its to scary. A lot of countries tell ghosts stories during the holiday season, even Sleepy Hollow took place during Christmas and is technically a Christmas story. As for the special effects, This was written and directed by Michael Doherty who also did the Wonderful Halloween movie Trick 'r Treat. The loves to use practical as much as possible, and very little in his movies are CG unless it has to be. Everything had a puppet or costume with slight cg touches. This movie is also technically connected to the Movie Trick 'r Treat with the main antagonist Sam rotting come Nov 1st and his seeds plant themselves for next year, making the way for Krampus to come and teach his lesson to those needing it. Great reaction like always!!

Every year on December 5th is Krampus Day, where I'm from (It's more of a countryside thing), and December 6th is Nikolaus (St. Nicholas) day. Basically the Krampus comes to visit the bad children... when I was like 4-5 years old, my dad left me in the backseato f the car, and was like "brb".... all of a sudden the doors open on BOTH sides, and a Krampus (someone dressed up as one, the "Perchten" costumes are even uglier, but more detailed&expensive) was on each side. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest, because at that young an age, you don't KNOW that's just a person in a costume... and they had "Ruten", which are bundles of branches, that you can whip people with (and they actually do with teenagers... at least until I was in my 20s, not sure what it's like now, as people are quicker to press charges... some groups would even drive around in vans, snatching guys up and whip the crap out of them... that would be a kidnapping charge, apart from the assault, but hey that's how it was.. the Perchten woudl sometimes even carry chains, and use those... they#d make you kneel and recite Ave Marias and Pater Nosters, and if you made a mistake you'd get it, for example... of course some of us would also dress up when we were older...). Anyway, basically they asked me if I had been a "good boy", to which I lied and said "yes", scared to death. They then gave me some toys. Obviously my dad had asked them to do that. It's one of the few very clear memories I have from that age. So probably still somewhat traumatized by it :D

OMG, just stumbled by your channel by accident and you ma'am, are AMAZING!!! This was by far one of the best reaction videos I've ever seen. Your enthusiasm, sense of humor, and smile are all top notch lol. And I love the fact that you didn't hold back when it came to giving your opinion throughout. Keep the wonderful content coming :)
