@observingrogue76522 жыл бұрын
Why hate being bloodthirsty? Embrace it. Through my life of being sabotaged & cheated, by stupid & evil, among us and in positions of authority. I have learned some people are a lost cause, cannot be helped, cannot be saved, and some people truly deserve to suffer & die. Regardless of connections or status. If someone doesn't have the drive to survive and improve their own life, they want to parasite off others, then why should that person live? If someone torments, bullies, cheats, harms and violates innocent people for their own gain or amusement, why should that person live? The less personal info you share with others, the less likely they can screw your life up. Directly or indirectly. From Crabs-In-Bucket mentality to them talk too much about you. I advise people to build independence, don't trust or rely on anyone, including friends, family, governments and gods, keep to yourself, have escape plans with backup resources, keep a weapon with you regardless of the law, and every time you leave the house, have the mindset "Who am I going to kill today?" Unless you owe them for something you requested, then no one is entitled to your labor, your resources, your property, your body, or your time. And beware of those who are a threat to these. Do not underestimate how dangerous or how random wicked and stupid people can be.
@observingrogue76522 жыл бұрын
Oh, and at least try to take steps to be unrecognizable. You kill someone in self-defense, it's better to disappear from the scene. And if someone breaks into your home to rob, violate, or kill you, then kill them quietly then destroy the body. Stop degenerates from degrading or taking your life, just for them to be replaced by other degenerates called police, lawyers, news stations, and a judge. In today's society of shaming or punishing people for being strong and directly defending & avenging themselves, instead of relying on & validating the gang members called police and their "justice system. There is no point getting the police involved. We must buy, make, and master whatever weapons, armor, and vehicles we can, to directly protect & avenge ourselves and what's ours. Police & gods are garbage, and depending on the government & religion, police & gods are threats themselves to good people.

Loved The Guest. Nice call on Barbara Crampton, an amazing actor (ReAnimator, among others at the time; she's had a great run of films and tv in the last decade). She's still knocking em' dead (pun not intended but not shied away from either). Also worth mentioning that the first victim (Tariq?) was played by Ti West, director of House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, and most recently X. The actor playing final girl's duplicitous boyfriend (name escapes me at the moment) is also in a lot of horror movies from this same circle of artists. This movie's a great little nexus of modern-ish horror.

I really do love how it's made so clear in just the one dinner scene which of the kids is the 'favorite' with the way the married brother keeps poking at everyone and the parents do nothing, but when another brother pushes back verbally, the parents jump in like he's at fault. A sadly common family dynamic and it's cool to see how they made it clear without having to spell it out.

Erin was built from the ground up to be the ultimate Final Girl. I’m in awe of how the writers managed to toe the line between Mary Sue and feasible person. She’s a hell of a character.
@bloodyivy74539 ай бұрын
That's pretty easy to do, if you let go of this mentality that, even when a female character is very good, she isn't good enough "because" [insert whatever here]. Nobody talks that much shit about Gary Stu's, and HQ's, anime, manga, cinema, books, have lots of them. Just to mention a few examples, Harry Potter is a huge Gary Stu, alongside Superman and Tony Stark, but, for some reason, nobody aknowledges how OP they are. TL;DR: "Mary Sue" has lost its original meaning and become just a sexist term to control how women should be characterized and portrayed. It is sexist because its counterpart, Gary Stu, is barely used in comparison. Its original meaning is gone, the term has become empty, so, it isn't even a thing anymore.

I love this film. It wasn’t until my second viewing that I realized how the brother and his gf, Z manipulated everyone. He was the one who suggested someone make a run for it knowing full well there was a wire stringed up right outside the front door. They kept giving advice to the family that put them in danger. Told Erin the breaker was in the basement and she should go alone to find it. And then just looking back at all their nonchalant reactions to every attack. It’s so clear on second viewing that they were behind it all. Def watch again and look out for all the little things they do and say to push the plan along. It gives you a whole other take on the film 🙌 BTW loves you Alanda 💕 so glad I’ve got to see you fall in love with the Scream franchise and become a Sid fan. She is THE final girl. Giving us LIFE! Adam Wingards' masterpiece with great tight writing. Veteran character actors *Tony Moran* (Kingpin) *Amy Seimetz* (Pet Semetary 2018) *Sharni Vinson*, our titular heroine (Step Up 3D) Director *Ti West* (The Innkeepers, X & Pearl) and last but certainly not least. The most underrated scream queen and the most beloved, The almighty *Barbara Crampton* (Re-animator, From Beyond, Jakob's Wife.) This movie is an instant modern Certified Classic. 👏👍

Erin was such a fantastic final girl. So underrated. I wished more people watched this movie and realize how badass and iconic it is.

Watching this the second time is very rewarding. Seeing who keeps saying things like "You should go outside!" or "Go downstairs and you check it out!" and who doesn't.
