Great questions and conversation. Charlie really shows genuine curiosity and never sounds presumptuous or asks clichéd questions.

@@eleanor4759 you certainly did not ask me but may i answer? Yesterday, I listened to Wake Up for really the first time. It was the song, along with Head Over Feet that I regularly skipped. Even on the acoustic rerelease…. However,,, Wake Up is AMAZING

These kinds of interviews are fascinating for so many reasons, but his one in particular for a variety. Alanis is so intelligent and specifically spoken and also so enchanting to watch. I think that surpasses any other reason to watch. That being said I am intrigued by the sort of unfortunate discomfort and chauvinism occurring throughout. The way Charlie seems to answer everything for her (even within the formation of the question) it also feels as if she is painfully aware that he does not read into her earnest responses. She truly takes everything she says very seriously and he seems to sort of not buy any of it. It is subtle but definitely noticeable and sort of disguised as engagement. It can be frustrating to watch, to see her undermined for her gender and her youth- but I say that its intriguing because of the way in which she handles it, and as a timestamp of misogynies at the time.

exactly what im thinking as im watching this...its almost like he doesnt know how to have a conversation as deep as shes answering his questions. she even shoots back at him in a subtle way with a couple of her answers.

why was it described as "sexy anger" though. yuck.
@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar11 ай бұрын
It was “sexy anger” based on her lyrics of going down on her boyfriend in the theater.
@RealShadyUnicorn11 ай бұрын
@@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar she may have the right to call it that. But, in my opinion. HE did not. She didnt write the song for his sexual desires but to express her anger and emotion.
@MyOneFiftiethOfADollar11 ай бұрын
@@RealShadyUnicorn alanis chose to make a living by singing and entertaining. She states in her lyrics that she performed fellatio on her ex in a movie theater(you reacted with YUCK to this being characterized as sexy anger) As much as you admire her, she was just another horny teenager who happened to be talented and attractive. She profited immensely off of her expression of her “sexual anger” whether you agree with it or not. It’s really easy for her appear charming and composed, but she was just another angry adolescent like many of us at that time of our lives. She made astonishing bonding connections with hundreds of millions of people worldwide. She probably never thought she she would become a global icon when she shared lyrically that she gave an old boyfriend HEAD at the movies. Middle school girls do things like that routinely. It’s normal and hardly worth mentioning. “And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back” Alanis is sexy and was ANGRY and that is OK So what exactly is your PROBLEM with all this?!?
@JimmyKlef3 ай бұрын
You’re probably right but i have definitely been told by girls growing up and into my twenties that my anger was sexy. It did also upset me a little. And those relationships didn’t last. Lol. But I’ve heard it thrown around to a few people. Pretty unsavory from people trying to have a relationship honestly. Like, so do you make me angry in order to be attracted to me? Not good. For sure.
