I was in the audience at the Shepherds Bush Empire for this show. It was a surprise from my then partner. I had no idea who we were going to see there. Joanne Lumley was standing in for for Terry Wogan. Tears flowed out of my eyes when the Champs came on stage. Ali was always my hero, beginning back before his ban and to see him so close up was amazing. My only sadness was Ali was very poorly and couldn't say a lot. After the show we were walking back to our car and they all appeared at the rear of the theatre. They all stopped and spoke to us for about 10 minutes, Ali even kissed my partner on the cheek. George Foreman, Joe Frazier and Harry Carpenter were absolutely wonderful. When Ali shook my hand, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. He had this amazing smile which could melt ice. Ali signed a receipt we had from a supermarket, as we could find any other bits of paper.....lol!!! They laughed and joked with us until their limousine arrived. Frazier, Ali and Foreman.......friends for life!!! One of the greatest nights of my life!!

"We got robbed of Ali’s best years" Robbed of his best years ? Are you serious ? You do not his whole story. Since 1966, he could not fight during four years, because his opposition to the Vietnam War ; [ "Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go ten thousand miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?" ] (Wikipédia) THEY robbed him of his worldchampion title and "His boxing license was also suspended by the state of New York" (Wikipédia). While many others fought with their fists, Ali did with his soul and the whole body, flesh and bones. Ali was not a simple boxer, but one of the most clever ans wise human genius of our time.

He beat Michael Moorer at 45 and give really competitive fight to prime Evander Holyfield only lost by couple of points at age of 42. Not want to take anything away from Ali but even the fight he lost to Ali wasn't that fair to him he fought in extremely hostile environment imagine everyone constantly yelling eat him Ali and even some guy trying to loosen ring ropes hes still being humble and accepting the loss. I know this program was before the examples i wrote but i wrote those to back up that hes one of the best , he was 46-2 and destroyed great fighters like Ken Norton and Joe Fraizer who both beaten Ali before this program so hes still being really humble. This line of reasoning always confuses me. Foreman and Ali cussed each other out and fought out of the ring on live tv in their day. Later, with age, sure they’re friends. They’ve shared something no one else can relate to. But looking at this generation of fighters and saying they don’t have the same class as the old guard is simply wrong. They just haven’t had time to mature yet. No true gentleman will ever be a champion in a fight sport because you have to be out for blood to win. After retirement you can mellow out. Look at these guys. Look at Tyson. That’s how it always has been and it’s how it always will be.

People tend to talk smack, to gather together in groups and attacking each other - just like fighters do during promo. Nonetheless, we're all just people. None of us is better than the other. We're just different. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose. I refuse to talk about great fighters who inspired soo many people like some would be more worthy than others. @@soleknight3212 I think you're probably right. Most athletes have to think that to a certain degree to compete at that level, IMO. "I AM The Greatest!" was his Ali's slogan for years. And subsequently, he did get deeper into his Muslim faith.

I was a young man about their ages when i watched these all time greats fight each other. It was a period of my life i will never forget, and they all added to my life and billions of other's. It was a glorious and exciting time. I loved this interview and seeing the love and respect they have for one another is a satisfying end to their stories. Shijit Nair Stop man these 3 were just like any boxer of this generation when they were young. Mike tyson, holyfield and lennox lewis are now friends, but who would have thought thzt when mike ate his ear ? So it wkll be the same with Joshua wilder tyson, even at the moment they respect each other but its the competiton, and its boxing not football, its not a game its a war so even with all the respect in the world you cant be too friendly if not you will lose, boxing is 90% mental and if you show sign of weakness its over
