I just set up my Google Mesh system because the WiFi signal wasn’t strong enough to reach the furthest camera. The security system is connected to the gateway. Can I just plug the Smart Gateway straight into the Google router? Will it us the points so all camera have strong WiFi signals? Or do I have to connect the security system to the google mesh and disconnect from the gateway completely? TIA

Thanks for watching. I'm not familiar with Google Mesh, but I can tell you this is exactly why Alarm.com has the their smart gateway. Once you set it up, you can change your router, IPS, home/business WiFi and it doesn't require you to change your Alarm.com system.

Accent Alarms got a technician out to the house. Answer is no in order to use the Mesh system I had to disconnect my camera that wasn’t working properly and connect it to my mesh system. But the good news is the mesh system acts like the gateway, if I change providers all I have to to is plug my mesh into my new router.

How do I even add the cameras to the account after they’re connected to the gateway?!?!

Great question. You must have an Alarm.com account that includes a video subscription. Once you have that you can go to www.alarm.com/AddCamera and it will walk you through adding the camera to your account.
