Any advice on mounting the PFA120 on Stucco? I believe I have OSB or plywood behind the stucco. Toggle bolts?
@AccentAlarms
@AccentAlarms 2 ай бұрын
While I no longer use these products, I would attempt to hit stud to mount the device to. Toggle bolts require such a large hole, but if you miss then a toggle bolt might be your only option. They also have what I cal zip-its (not sure that's correct) that have an tilt out anchor, similar to a toggle bolt. These would also be a possibility.

I agree with this list, as an alarm guy. I recommend the Klein tweaker as it has 4 different sized tips in the shaft and I do use it almost daily. Also the Klein 11 in one screw driver, also has multiple size bits that can be quickly swapped around. The long handled snips/cutters are essential for cutting cables and wire, but at times I also find myself using a very small pair to snip just one small 16g or 18g or even smaller wire thats bundled together with a bunch of others. Having the small pair allows me to cut just one wire precisely, and cable ties that the larger pair is harder to work with and ensures I am cutting only what I need to and nothing else (very important). HVAC units often have big bundles of dozens of wires that run together. So even though we work with primarily 14-2, or 16-2, and 14-4 etc, there is a use for them. Yes you will absolutely need a multimeter as well, but starting out you start realizing the tools you need and begin to aquire them as you go. We use dozens of tools on install jobs, yes you will need all of them at some point, but to start out you need the essentials listed here, and you should have a multimeter as well. I use my flashlight and head lamp a lot as well, I recommend the headlamps you can get on amazon, rechargeable and motion activated on/off feature. This allows you to waive your hand in front of your face to turn the light on and off all day without searching for the button.

Hey there Sean, Rufus here. We have the Slide Driver at our Sub Station. Our manual release keeps unlatching. No one can seem to figure out why. In your expert opinion what are the possible reasons?
@AccentAlarms
@AccentAlarms 4 ай бұрын
Without actually being there to troubleshoot your gate, I suspect that the drive wheels are contacting the stop ramp and popping the release assembly. Make sure (1) you don't have a broke wheel, (2) limit switch is out of alignment, (3) you slow-down valve is out of adjustment (if you have a model with this), (4) maybe your stop ramp is loose or messed up?

Great video! It's funny how people's tool choice varies..I am in Telecoms in the UK, and I can't ever remember using a set of pliers like yours, or linesman's pliers either in the last 35 years. As the conductor's in the cables became smaller I don't think there was a need.. As far as pliers went, the three go-to tools were diagonal cutters, needlenose pliers, and adjustable end type strippers, a completely different style to the type popular in the US. All these pliers were 6". We would also possibly have crimpers (the company issued several different types over the years) and one or more insertion tools, plus a small selection of screwdrivers and that would round out a basic domestic service tool kit, barring testers, butt phones ect.. During the first couple of years I was out on installations, we did not even have electric drills, but rather a hammer driven No 14 Rawplug tool plus a couple of sizes of hand augers for going through wooden door or window frames! How the times have changed!!!
@AccentAlarms
@AccentAlarms 5 ай бұрын
😄 Well stated! I use a lot of 18awg cables with beans, so my "crimpers" are still my go to for cutting and crimping. Plus they are large enough to double as a hammer! haha! On occasion, depending on what I'm doing, I will swap them out for some diag. cutters. :)

I had a 1994 John Deere and half of it was produced by Murray. It was a good machine. Soon after John Deere’s were green and yellow Ariens. Been a long time since John Deere produced their own machine if ever. I have an Ariens 24 platinum now. I think the current line in the last eight years is the best Machines Ariens built in a long time. They went back to the cast iron gear box. Either Ariens or Toro for an American machine. Honda ? Back in the day Yamaha was hands down the best. Can’t get them in the states anymore. Ariens is the best of the best right now. My research on Honda is a mixed bag. They are expensive. There’s no cost savings buying from a big box store. Support your local dealers unless they are bad. They know how to assemble the product.

How to i program remote on this machines
@AccentAlarms
@AccentAlarms 8 ай бұрын
The SlideDrivers do not come with any remotes, you would need to add a remote and wire to one of the open inputs on the SmartTouch control board. Programming a remote then would be dependent on the brand of remote you purchase to use with the SlideDriver.

General question. I’ve been using Irb beams for years without issues. We switched mostly to optex beams and love them. I’ve got an Irb-Mon setup that’s failed twice on us and can’t figure out why. Driveway is 40ft. We install the beams and they work for a while. Then out of the blue they’re tripping on their own. We’ve reset the sensitivity twice. They work a few days then we again get a call that they’re not working. Get there and the boards flashing. Remove the cover and they work. So last time I used the cover to set sensitivity by placing the cover over 1/2 the unit while adjusting sensitivity. Any advise??

I've had horrible experiences with IRB's. They can interfere with one another, if you have multiple pairs, be sure to have the transmitters aimed in opposite directions so the do not hit the same receiver. On occasion, I've been able to purposely aim them away from each other to limit the cross-talk. I've also had issues during certain times of the year with the sun causing issues. My best advice is to use another product. My preferred beams are the Seco-Larm Enforcers, although I'm about to give the Nice/HySecurity BlueBus beams a try.

Basically, the post still wobbles. And since the material is spongy, once you push it, the non-expansive material will remain so and leave a gap, so that the post will now wobble even more. The product, an expanding foam, is best used for its intended purpose to fill a hole (eg, similar to the expanding insulation they use inside homes and garage walls for insulation. But not for supporting posts. ---- It would be an INTERESTING EXPERIMENT, if one could "accent" this quickly-expanding material, by somehow incorporating small pebbles/stones into the liquid mix, so that as it expands, it expands WITH the stones inside, as a matrix, and thus making a kind of cement floating in a plastic material. (Someone should try this). Better even, chopping up some small wire, 12/18 gauge, into small 1 inch lengths AND also pebbles --- then poring that liquid (and wire/rock addition) so that as it expands, it incorporates that inner metal/rock network and really hold the post to the outside circumference of the hole?! Try that and let me know.

I am not familiar with the BEA LZR H100, so I am gathering knowledge on it . I like it so far. In this install you used the laser as well as photo eyes. Why do you use both?
@AccentAlarms
@AccentAlarms Жыл бұрын
Great question. The LZR H100 is used as a vehicle loop detector which currently does not meet the requirements for UL-325 Life Safety. So, the H100's are used to open the gate for Free egress and provide safety "loops" on the inside and outside of the gate (this keeps the gate from closing on vehicles) while the photo beams provide protection of people from being trapped/hit/dragged by the gate.

Thanks for watching. If by "constant pressure" you mean that you have to hold the open or close buttons down to get the get to move, you probably have one of your safety devices in fault and it's is forcing you to manually override them by applying constant pressure. HySecurity Tech Support, (253)-201-2918, is typically really helpful and if you leave your number, they will give you a call back pretty quickly.
