I’m not sure the under the radar transfer approach from Lange is currently satisfying the boiling point tetchiness of a significant percentage of Spurs fans desperate to see instant quality or at least feel there’s hope that improvements are possible. We live in a now now now instant world!

I think the anger is coming from the fact that every day one or two of our targets go elsewhere and Spurs seem to be doing absolutely NOTHING and are becoming an idiot in an emptying store waiting for last minute bargains while the shelves are empty and everything decent has gone and the other punters have full shopping bags while we stand there gazing off into space, dribbling. God forbid we get another SIssoko/Johnson desperate deadline day buy for well above their true value just to appease angry fans. The moment Werner came back I knew this window would stink and they would not back Ange who lost 8/10 of his final games last season.

The issue with Spurs is that not going for Gray, they have to go and get someone better. If they don't get anyone better, this has been another transfer mistake. Spurs need young English talent.

I’m sure Ange will bring in some great players this term. Tottenham fans need to be patient. Bergvall looks amazing and could turn out out to be world class. Dragusin looked amazing at the back of last season too. We have Udogie and VDV too. Mikey Moore and Donnelly are all so young and the team is growing. Let’s not get down about this season before it has even started.

After watching this episode, I was thinking, would Spurs hinder Gray’s development. I’m not too sure we would and a bit like Sarr, Udogie and potentially Bergvall, I see him getting significant game time now. I understand in the past we’ve made decisions not to throw young players in too early, but I can’t see Spurs willing to use a decent percentage of the budget on a player who now would get minimal game time at the club. As you say, football changes quickly and the current situation is that a move to Brentford has stalled. I do wonder if this has anything to do with deals with Rodon and/or Skipp being a softener or would we be willing to say buy and loan back if it’s decided that his development would be better with one more season with his boyhood club.

Short or long your videos are always welcome, though I guess with the Euros, Tour de France and Glastonbury all on this weekend, a shorter video was easier to schedule into my hectic TV viewing! I will not be shedding any tears if we miss out on Archie Gray as he was unlikely to get enough game time to take Spurs to the next level in the short term. What’s the point in buying players just for the sake of it - leave that approach to Chelsea and Man City. Also, it certainly appears that Conor Gallagher has no great desire to move to Spurs so would he really be a good investment. As an Oxford resident I would love for Jamie Donley to go on loan to United so I could pop along to watch him. Though to be honest, I would be even more delighted to see him get regular first team football with Spurs next season. BTW, do you think Ange has had a media training crash course prior to his ITV appearances? The throat clearing, staring at the floor Ange seems to have been transformed!

If I’m honest I would have to say fair play to Archie Gray if he chooses Brentford because in reality he probably goes straight into the first team and plays regularly.. Yeah I would be really pleased if he came to us but even at the low level of football I played all I wanted to do was play so personally I do not understand why players do sign for clubs that they know their not going to play regularly.. just my opinion

But we're not even so much as linked. He's best creative midfielder in his age group - not playing a for a major elite level team. Archie Gray won’t sign for Spurs as they’re an elite club and he won’t get game time. Jacob Ramsey won’t sign as Villa are in the CL??? Who will we sign then? Also, if you want to pay £50m for Ramsey, why not just get Eze for around £60m? Also for 6 months, Spurs were saying we’ll sign players in June as we’re in a great position with PSR and now we’re in July and no new players in. Same club excuses every year. If we pay £50m for Ramsey, it will be Lange doing Villa a big big favor

Getting the right loan move for some of the youngsters is very important, guaranteed game time is important and with team's with similar philosphy of playing style, some supporters need to realise that not all transfer targets actually want tocome to or play for spurs, realising they are not going to get the game time and could stagnate their development

Spurs are literally the pergatory of a football club. Young stars don't wnt to come because without gametime they can't realise their potential and big name players see us as below their level. This is why we get stuck with the middle of the pack players like Richarlison and Brennan Johnson. We will forever be between 4-8 as a football club and maybe steal a cup or two.

Currently have very low expectations for this summer window I must say. Been such a focus on Gallagher and Eze when felt like neither were ever going to be deals we do. And now Ramsey for 50m? At least Eze felt like one that would actually improve our team to me and the type of player we needed but I thought the word was always palace would only let 1 of them go and Olise has been known for some time already so weird everyone keeps thinking Eze still on.

Everything is a pathway. We have a squad and loan book cluttered with past poor recruitment. Is there a coherent plan to persuade players to come to us? Last season we played people who are planned leavers over academy products. We will have 50% more games next season. What will we do for squad?

Thank you for the video, Alasdair. Having heard the Archie Gray news before watching this video, it is interesting to see how quickly things can change. Obviously, they need to complete the deal, but this is a drastic change from the supposed done deal with Brentford yesterday. Getting Archie Gray would be amazing imo, since he fits the system really well and we have consistently missed out on top young players from the championship (Wharton, Alex Scott, Eze, Bowen, etc). Hopefully, we can get the deal done and continue make strong signings

Im definitely in the Birmingham for Donley loan camp. I think league one football rather than championship is a good move anyway as it's more physical and people tend to forget the level of the youngsters when they're doing well and calling for them to get game time in the first team, but you only need to look at the EFL trophy and all the U21 teams' performance to see there is still a challenge at that level. Playing for a strong team and a big club in league one for a manager that knows him and likes him would be really positive and then you have the Jan window to reassess if he needs a change

Thanks for keeping us in the loop as always! I would like to see Donley go to Birmingham mainly due to Davies being there but I do also agree with the big crowd crowds adding something to his development. I’d like to see Moore be the one on the fringes of the first team , his age means he can come in and out more than Jamie D as I think he is more at the stage where first team game time is key. Moore can fight for his place but still play for the youth. It will be interesting if Devine is kept for the early Europa games. shows the strength of our youth where we have Devine , Donley and Moore all in the current queue!!

Jack Clarke was the name I was thinking about too. We dont all think every player wants to come - its just wishful thinking. The days of promoting younger talent through the ranks are behind us. Kane and Skipp came through the academy but other players....? Those that made it, went elsewhere.

Not sure why we were linked with Eze. Sure what club wouldnt want him. Would we have left Kane go for less than 100m euros? I cant see Palace wanting him to go and he may have to wait to the final year if he isnt going to cause friction. It seems to me that we won't know about Eze until our time in the European competition is done. I suspect Eze has a release clause at around 60 million but all that means is once that sum is offered even if they want a large sum up front, so be it, but if he wants the move it will be up to him what he chooses to do. Something like that I hope.
