I’m always amazed at how well you are able to inspire myself and I know many others with just how beautifully shot these scenes are but also tell a story along with it. Every time I get a notification about you uploading a new video I usually drop what I’m doing and watch immediately. Excited for episode 2!

Guys these rivers crossings are no joke. Have you considered wearing life jackets? You can find very light PFDs that could save your life if you get swept away.

ah shit, only six minutes :( ah yes, part 1 :) excellent story telling. pacing and narrative are not always easy, but you always manage to convey a sense of big distance and up close insight. 10/10

Hey John, recently started watching you and I really like what your doing. Both hiking and filming wise. Can't wait to follow this story as I prepare to go for the first of what I hope to be many backpacking journeys. I feel like your film making is taking a form of its own before my very eyes.

There's technique to river crossings, many times in high water a team effort is the safest way.
@JH-lf3si4 жыл бұрын
The 'tripod' tactic works if are you solo. Have trekking points in front of you as you're facing the current, creating a 'fork' in the water in front of you. This helps as you slowly walk side to side as you cross. Importantly keep the poles in front of you to fork, and always (circumstances vary) have three points of contact.
