Great goals for this year! Thank you for sharing ideas and inspiration. I bought my first chainsaw about a year ago because a tree fell and was suspended over the driveway. This year the small wood splitter I found on an after-Christmas sale just arrived on my front porch. Now I can harvest, season, split and stack my own firewood, and do not need to purchase it from others. Another small step towards greater self-sufficiency. 😄

I went to my meat market on New Year’s Eve. They had sauces, garlic, olive oil, $1 apiece. Went to sprouts yesterday, Jan. 2 and they had several baskets, $.99 olive oil, garlic, lots of things, crazy… I won’t need olive oil for 2 years, pure maple syrup. Etc…

Cash $ ones, fives and a few tens and some quarters, have been my last prepping items. Last year with the fake ammo shortage motivated me to have plenty of 223/556 and a dispenser for them, topped off my big prepping items. Honestly as a single guy, and having been motivated by the Spirit to prep many years ago. So much of my prep supplies are out of date, but I am hoping are still usable. We have had so many "calms before storms that never happened." That I am really wondering if this next year will be the year when it really all turns to poop? So if it does, I am ready, and if not, another year of preps just sitting and waiting to be used.

For my home preps, should a evacuation crisis arrive, I have large rubber made totes, preloaded for removal, I prioritize the totes with an large x and depending on time they are x1 through x30 so the first one I grab is obviously x1 then x2 and as many as time allows. In addition my 24’ travel trailer is already loaded in similar fashion the hope is I have time to load house storage in the bed of the pickup as well as leaving with the trailer. As far as propane I stock twenty 20 pound (barbecue size) bottles in an emergency I want a months supply and I want them in manageable carrying size.

Here I am in N.Central Kentucky for 31 years (as of this month), and waiting for an ice and snowstorm. I am prepped; the grocery stores were crazy-busy on Friday. Now, they have pushed to storm until tomorrow,(Sunday). My firefighter son just called and said they were even crazier today, when the storm was supposed to have already started. I am doing laundry, and am stocked on laundry products because, if we lose power, everyone will be going to the store afterward and buying it all off the shelves. I am also cooking the meat I have, and making soup. I have my lighting and kerosene heater ready, and my generator is accessible if necessary. What I di remember is to bring in a bag of Ice Melt, so if we do need to go out the 30 feet of driveway to the We prep and we learn. I would also love to jump up to a good solar generator, but I don't know if that will ever happen.

To power a lamp, fan or charge devices, consider a marine battery with an inverter. We used this when camping at the beach to power some big music speakers. We have also used that while camping to power a fan. During the ice storm in Texas years using the marine battery to power a lamp inside was comforting.

I’m a milk LOVER, so Powder milk I hate the dark, so lots of batteries I’ve experienced real hunger, so food And though I didn’t think I needed it water. Because I do need it🙃 I would love solar energy on my well, but haven’t found anyone to do that. My husband checked on solar panels for the whole place but we couldn’t get anyone who would come out here.💔 My husband has sleep apthnia and so I bought a small solar battery that can also be charged with electricity to run his breathing machine for about eight hours. And I also have some of those solar lights for in the yard as well as solar powered phone chargers. I only found you about 1&1/2 or 2 yrs ago. YOUVE BEEN A BLESSING TO ME SINCE THEN ❤ You lessons taught me to to stock up To store water To be ready to hunker down inside if I can’t leave To pack a bug out bag if I have to leave and To have a get home bag in my vehicle 😅 I have used many of your lessons, like bug out bags as gifts for my kids and grandkids. I’ve given small versions of get home bags to traveling friends who pass through. Mostly I’ve shared your lessons with everyone I know. If they have listened to you and done what they can then my whole circle is prepared. This year for the holidays we gave practical gifts, food, & food storage, and the girls got make your own vanilla extract kits😀, while the boys got knife necklaces😳. It’s the size of a pocket knife But you wear it around your neck, slim chance of loosin g it. It really feels good to be prepared. May G-D bless you always for all you have done for so many people on the utube and my family and friends. You’re awesome!

We have 2 large solar generators w/solar panels, one from 4 Patriots and one Bluetti. It just makes sense here in north Florida. They keep our fridge and 2 small chest freezers going, put to the test during hurricanes. We also got bags to protect them from EMPs. We have a Berkey, too, and have heard good things about Alexapure.

Solar lights: i bought three inflatable cube lights and three accordion style cylinder solar lights. Cute. Expensive. Once they are charged they work well. The trouble is that they take more than one full sunny day to charge. I live in Maryland and my porch (my outside charging area) is totally sunny. I use my solar lights until they turn off and then recharge them. I rotate my lights now to accommodate the charging issue. In my case I use solar lights to lower my electrical bill. It has done wonders for my budget. My next step: buying DT solar lights. I would love feedback from others like me who have switched to indoor solar lights for budget purposes. Thank you! 💗

This year, I am continuing to walk my treadmill 30 minutes every other day while also lifting hand weights. Baby steps, but light enough I probably will not irritate an old knee injury. Recently took delivery of a 4-gallon bucket of dried lentils packaged for 20 years storage. Also took delivery of two #10 cans of freeze-dried broccoli and one can of popcorn kernels. I now have zero storage space left for any more food storage. We will be using some more of our Mt. House meals on an up coming RV trip. We use scented wax melts in our home and I disliked the idea of just throwing away the used wax once most of the scent is gone. So I bought a candle making kit to turn empty glass jars and used scented wax cubes into jar candles. Those jar candles could be useful during a power outage or maybe I will add some essential oils to the melted soy wax and turn the candles into gifts.

The Grayl water filtration device is the ultimate water filter for small quantities. However, about $100. They also make a titanium one.

The amount of water that you can filter is very low considering the price of each new filter.

I've used a Zero water filter for a while now and like it but in a 1 person household I have to change the filter every 6 weeks or the water starts to taste funny. Filters are expensive having to change this often so I also use a long last filter in a Brita pitcher.

Thank you AG... good info for us all to do and remember. I need to go through some of my things here. Everything keeps going up in price, too... Eggs are expensive here again. $5.00 for a dozen. Wow. We have been buying cans of coffee lately. Kroger is having theirs lately for $5.99, a good size can. We drink coffee everyday. I stock up on canned chicken, canned tuna, canned beans and dry beans, rice, potatoes, and pancake mix that uses only water. Chicken broth and beef broth too. And I always have the things I need to make chili or soups. We do not ever eat out anymore. Too costly here. We always make our meals and coffee at home. It has helped us a lot to change the way we spend our money. Take care and God bless. I hope to get to our Dollar Tree soon... I am hearing there is a lot of them with empty shelves. Thanks again. Hug for Teddy.

Just did a jig happy dance. I LOVE, LOVE your shoes so share where i can buy, please! Then, exactly what I've been thinking of is solar bc it would be a one-time buy & I can't afford to make a mistake. So confusing. Love any & all help. Like you need a medium size to run a rv washing machine. It's the children looking plastic one, but boy, has it been a blessing for my washing small things & arthritis. It fits in shower & I can get it out. 😊 A month ago, we purchased an air mattress & a new sleeping bag in case of storm & power outages to sleep downstairs. My thought is to purchase things like Madrid oranges, cherry in a jar/can, & really check & update medication. We can't let up because we all see too much & now too much now. I know I'm responsible for my family & I'm the one in charge. I'll do the best I can with what I've got & figure it out with the information you have so kindly shared. 😊thanks so much again. Shoes, blue ballerina shoes info, please.😅
