Le pilotage est tellement impressionnant, des manœuvres que tu ne vois que dans les simulateurs de vol sur console. Entre le Tigre et le Rafale force est de constater que la France a une belle maîtrise de la « technologie aérienne »

During my military service in 1996-97, I was the driver for the 'commanding officer' during maneuvers aimed at presenting one of the four Tiger helicopters to Minister Lionel JOSPIN. The commanding officer was one of the four pilots trained on these prototypes. I saw the Tiger take off from 5 meters above the ground and perform a loop, skimming the ground at 10 meters in height before taking off. In this video, its true maneuverability is not shown. It benefits from a metal alloy and resin armor, the composition of which is kept secret. It was also, at least at the time, completely invisible to radar, as well as equipped with a new type of missile for that era. After several recent discussions, the pilots complain about electronics that are not always reliable...

Impressive display! This is the standard French Army version of the Tigre. A modernized Tigre ihas long been planned and is in development right now. French Army Tigres, which have already been retrofitted with more powerful engines are about to be rebuilt to Mk II+ standard. This will include new electronics to allow 'loyal wingman'-style drones to operate with the Tigre, and new data-sharing technology, a new gun, intergration of laser-guided rockets and missiles, and various additional sensors. The first of these improved Tigres should fly in 2025. 🚁

The Tiger's 30mm cannon is in front of the fuselage while the American helicopter is under the fuselage which limits the firing angle.😊

@@ThisisFlight no, the apache have less manoeuvrability but more armement. He can carry more but he is not this easy to fly and make short figure like that. The agility is realy the main point of the tigre

The original poster said "not sure if the Apache can do these manoeuvres". Every single manoeuvre in this video can indeed be performed by an Apache, as anyone who watched the Dutch AH-64D solo displays can attest. You are arguing with something that I did not say. I did not cast judgement on whether the Apache or Tigre was more manoeuvrable; I just said that the Apache can replicate every manoeuvre seen in this video - which it demonstrably can do, and has done, in public, many hundreds of times.

Too bad a modernized version of the Tiger is not planned. It is an excellent platform but competition from the very complete and capable Chinese Z-10ME, in the same category, will do it a lot of harm internationally.

It is the general consensus that the version of the Tiger operated by Australia was substandard compared to the versions flown elsewhere, and this was exacerbated by a troublesome Australian logistical and fleet management system. This caused some pretty major operational problems early on. Ironically, these problems have now been broadly addressed and the Australian Tigers are now regarded as operating quite well - but their fate has already been sealed.

c'est dommage. le programme et les normes de securité émasculent complétement les capacités de ce bijou. pour l'avoir vu lors de ses débuts, je peux vous dire que ceci n'est rien face à ce qu'il peut vraiment faire. de plus, sa place n'est pas dans le ciel, mais à tournoyer, louvoyer au ras du sol à toute vitesse, accélérer et s'arrêter comme une brute pour déployer son armement ou basculer à toute vitesse en translation sur le coté. ... cette vision du tigre , en plein ciel, c'est comme demander à un vrai tigre de chasser et survivre dans le Sahara. c'est pas son environnement, non sens absolu. mais faut bien vendre du rêve accessible à bobonne.

😊No. I was fighting in Mali in 2013 ( pilot of rescue and immediate extraction (IMEX)) During a combat one of thé engine was touched by 12'7 mm bullets. But there IS an assymettric répartition of thé essentiel éléments AND a bullet proof wall in the middle of the two "engine". The weakness IS still the MGB (Main Gear Box) that cant be two. Sorry for this but my little pilot Heart is touchy 😂 My call Sign IS "Samaritain" due to my missions, call signed given by an unit helped in a light combat opération but with a huge wounded soldier.

En cas d'impact d'obus de KPV 14.5mm sur le fuselage il vaut mieux avoir les roues fixes à l'extérieur que bloquées à l'intérieur sur un atterrissage d'urgence. Ce sont des hélicos d'assaut, pas de promenade sur la Côte d'Azur... Au Mali, c'était pas la Foire du Trône le dimanche après-midi..

All 67 Tigres ordered by the ALAT are now in service, with a reported availability rate of 90%. This is comparable, or superior, to any other attack helicopter.

@@ThisisFlight only 5 of 51 in Germany is ready to fly now and in 2019 all 51 was unabled to fly, Australia dismessed all tiger, and take apache from USA, agermany dont finance any update for tiger in the future... this is the real fact at the moment.. sorry for my bad english

Australia and Germany operate an inferior version of the Tiger - the French and Spanish versions are more capable, and trouble-free. The Australian dissatisfaction with the Tiger has been misreported; it was largely not a fault of the aircraft, but a fault of a fleet management system. Unfortunately, by the time the problem had been identified, the decision to replace the Tigers with Apaches had already been made irreversably. The issue has now been addressed and, ironically, Australian Tigers are now operating pretty well - but their fate has already been sealed.

I don't really see what that has to do with.. well, anything. The USAF did not deploy F-22s to Afghanistan at that time either - that doesn't make the F-22 a bad aircraft. The Tiger HAD/HAP variants have continually demonstrated acceptable levels of reliability and servicability for the past ten years, and have performed satisfactorily in a majority of their combat deployments. Yes, I agree, the Tiger UHTs used by Germany have not had a wholly successful service career so far. However, you were wrong when you said "Germany don't finance any upgrade in future." This is incorrect; Germany has pulled out of the Mk.III/Mk.II+ upgrade programme, but will upgrade a minimum of 11 to ASGARD configuration by 2028.
