Here in Germany politics is compulsory education. We learned everything about the German and EU government and laws at the 8 to 9th grade and we had to do polls. And in the UK they are too afraid to teach politics??? Explains a lot.

But nonetheless, the far-right is gaining traction in Germany. :(
@holz_name5 ай бұрын
@@mup_pet yeah :( but it's just the same. We have lots of stagnation in our lives and of course racism is fueled. It's the same problem as in the UK. We just need to build stuff. More investment in infrastructure, in housing, and so on. Trains still are bad here. On Thursday I had a business trip. First the train in 10 minutes late, then they changed the platform and I had to run almost missing the train. Then they cancel my end destination because the train was late and I had to backtrack, this was 30 minutes extra time and a lot of walking. Housing gets better, at least something is build. They finish apartments last year, new houses are build next to me. But still we need so much more. The coalition of 3 different parties is just so bad. SPD+Green+FDP. Center left+Left+Right. SPD and Green are social, the FDP is a rich club party.

Labour should review and cut the yealy salary of non clinical Band 7, 8, 9 and Chief Execs of NHS trusts and pay that money to NHS staffs working lower Bands.Service will improve for sure.People working in higher bands/positions mostly work from home and come to office may be for a day in a week.Question is if they really do the work from home or just being unproductive?

Politics is compulsory in Scottish education system. We call it Modern Studies
@pleasy135 ай бұрын
It is literally the most boring subject I have ever encountered. I don't mean that about Modern Studies in general, just the way that it has been set up in Scotland now. It's excruciating. I suspected the SNP were trying to turn kids off politics when I read through what was covered when my daughter was studying it. Really sad, as it was far more interesting the way it was presented a generation ago, when I studied it.

@judithlashbrook46845 ай бұрын
The "small boats" problem is a completely fabricated problem. The Tories reduced capacity for dealing with asylum requests which creates a back log, rising numbers, more resources needed for housing them etc... The gouvernement need only go back to processing claims efficiently (sending those that don't meet asylum status back and enabling those who do to join the much needed tax paying work force). The other mesure needed is to create legal, safe routes by which these people can be dealt with without them feeling the need to resort to criminal, human trafficking, gangs and the dangers of a crossing on small boats..
