I remember John Prescott giving an interview where he talked about going to a secondary modern school. This happened to me but I passed the 13+ and I can tell you that I was told that I would never be a nurse or have a profession but I could be a shop girl provided I had a nice accent. The education was barely adequate. The shame was terrible for me and my parents. I knew exactly where he came from. Well done John Prescott, respect, RIP.
